@Lamentations Honestly when I started playing with it, I forgot about Defend too until I got that coli freeze thing. I tested it the next round to make sure it actually would eat up a turn, and it cuts the damage much more than Bolster does.

@Lamentations Also also und, here's the way I have my girl set up, if you don't want to restone your own:

@Redfoot Ah, great! I have actually restoned my girl, I just haven't had too much time to play with it yet!

Thanks for testing and researching, I salute to you guys.
So sum up;
Is it ok?
+ I fixed it <.<
(If @Lamentations you feel uncomfortable to my indulgent organized, I'll apologize that ._.)
I have you in the research are expected--everyone wanted a more reliable Ruin build :3
Thanks for testing and researching, I salute to you guys.
So sum up;
- Breath and turn is not wasted this build (yup, I'll accept)
- keep had 65+ breath
- Cycle is (1) Meditate (2) Haste (3) Defend(optional-
see the 6th entry this list) (4) Rally (~) GO ELIMINATE - Do avoid Vulture and Kamaitachi pack--they are not good as a starting pack.
Sap is better than Bolster to putting battlestone pack
You can use Sap with bolster;Redfoot wrote:I would say that for this build you could either use Bolster to weather a turn and kill the Meditate cool down, or you can replace the Bolster with a Sap and use the build-in Defend feature to hunker down for that extra turn.Is Defend a recommendation or must? - It must wait for the results of @Redfoot.

@wnznpeh I would say that for this build you could either use Bolster to weather a turn and kill the Meditate cool down, or you can replace the Bolster with a Sap and use the build-in Defend feature to hunker down for that extra turn.
Defend doesn't use up a battle stone slot, which is why I prefer it. But you can just as easily keep the Sap and use Rally or Haste twice in a row. The only consequence is that you've "wasted" a turn that you couldn't really use anyway.

@Lamentations Alright, here are my results.
Round 1 Using Bolster, not Sap. Got two fodder to level five before being killed. I think I'd prefer being able to boost my health instead of defending, so I'm gonna slap a Sap on her.
Round 2 Use Sap in place of Bolster. Same two fodder leveled to seven with no restarts. The first round is slightlly awkward because of that extra turn -- I used it for a second Haste, but don't know that it made it any real difference. After that it was smooth sailing. I was fortunate enough to not need the Sap this round, but I did have an Elim miss once. I had enough breath in reserve that I could just keep going, but I imagine that I'd use extra Hastes or Rallies to boost it if I needed too. I'll be taking more fodder into the Ruins and the Mire tomorrow for more trial runs.

Round 3 Everything's peachy in the Ruins. Got two more fodder to level seven with zero resets. Took another two into the Mire and things are less pleasant. The Brilliant Psywurms and Mossy Cerdaes are annoying without Scratch. Sap works, but the buffs don't give enough breath to offset the cost if you need to do it more than twice. After a few resets, I started using Meditate my first two turns of the first battle to get a good store of breath, but it still hasn't been enough of a buffer. Between the Brilliant Psywurms, Mossy Cerdaes, the toridaes that get away with 1 hp, dodges, and genuinely necessary Saps, I'm doing too much babysitting of my breath, and the whole process is much slower. I think shifting two points to STR would make the difference for the toridaes, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough to make the Mire smooth sailing. The Ruins will probably be much faster.

@Redfoot Do you have any problems with the toridaes with those stats? My girl's at 115 STR and 75 QCK, and the elims aren't quite doing it.

@TreeIsMetaphor I've got my girl at 117 STR / 71 QCK, so I have no problem with the Toridae. The Mossy/Brilliant are annoying, but since they're both casters I'm actually looking at them as a breath-building experience.

@Lamentations It's actually working pretty well for me. The Vultures get an extra turn in the second round, which can hurt if your fodder doesn't take the hit. I use the Spectres/Phantoms to Sap/potion and recover. Although tbh she was already statted and I didn't want to tincture :D
