This post is subject to change before the 31st; the rules said 1 dragon per individual but nothing about the special categories, so I am going to submit more than one. if thats not allowed let me know
Name: Caliphone
ID: 781
Dragon Name: Gallifrey
Costume Name: The Doctor
Categories Entered: Best Costume Inspired by an Existing Character, Best Pair
Inspiration: The Doctor, from Doctor Who. Mainly inspired by the 11th Doctor, but to round out the costume a bit more, I added the scarf to represent the 4th doctor (whom I also love)
Dragon Name: Tardis
Costume Name: The Tardis
Categories Entered: Best Costume Inspired by an Existing Character, Best Pair
Inspiration: The space/time ship from Doctor Who. She has self awareness and a personality, and even lines in one episode so I figure she's a character in her own right. The light jewelry is to represent the little light on top of the Tardis that flashes. Her color (blue iridescent) is to represent that the Tardis is blue, though the shifting hues also remind me or some photos I've seen of space. The dark wings don't hurt that impression any.
Dragon Name: Keriterro
Costume Name: Mummy
Categories Entered: Best Fae
Inspiration: Good old classic halloween costume! how can you go wrong?

Dragon Name: Andy
Costume Name: Fairy Prince
Categories Entered: Best Treat
Inspiration: This dragon is actually based of an original character of mine who loves to look pretty. He's a totally fabulous man, and I tried to make this already gorgeous dragon even more fabulous to honor him. I think his garb looks sort of lordly, so I often think of the dragon as being some sort of prince. and since hes got a fairy entourage...
Dragon Name: Duke
Costume Name: Mobster
Categories Entered: Best Ridgeback
Inspiration: the mobster characters from the 90's Batman animated series. I put the fedora on him on a whim and after that it was all over. Had to make him a mobster.
Dragon Name: Aureus
Costume Name: Warrior Fae of the Starwood Strand
Categories Entered: Best Original Character
Inspiration: Left alone as just an egg, Aureus was forced to fight for his life from a young age. Unlike others of his species, he had no skill with magic and only his agility and his claws to defend himself with. He subsisted mostly Nymphs, though over time he became a skilled hunter of Mana Thieves. The challenge in staying alive was so great that by the time he was nearly full grown he was incredibly strong compared to his kin. This was fortunate, for more than once he found himself under attack by roving Mirror bands, seemingly content to call him a meal. Sheer determination kept him alive, and after a few years he had become well known as the most dangerous magically incompetent Fae in all the realms. Small clans struggling to cope with aggression from their neighbors began to hire him to protect them. Now, in his prime, he has been fully crafted into a great warrior and protector of the weak.

Dragon Name: Baraz
Costume Name: Dwarf
Categories Entered: Best Snapper
Inspiration: I love LOTR and other such fantasy series, and dwarves have always been one of my favorite races. As soon as I got my first snapper I thought he looked particularly dwarf-like. The wise whiskers and the hood are the most important bits of the costume. The former is obvious; the latter - the dwarves in the hobbit were all described as having different colored hoods on. It's the most vivid thing I remember about the book. So, a hood is absolutely required for a dwarf costume. =)
Dragon Name: Riker
Costume Name: Western Indian Sidekick
Categories Entered: Best Imperieal
Inspiration: That wise "civilized indian" character from the Western Genre. The guy that wears a cowboy hat and a button-down shirt, but still has strong ties to his tribe. Often fills a sidekick role or a deputy. I've always liked those guys.
