If the Tidelord isn’t here to announce Wavecrest, then who/what is doing it in his stead?
(For context, the Announcements for the elemental festivals is always “made” by the deity of said element, literally in the forums. The tidelord’s forum image is just sad bubbles though, and has been for years!)

I like to imagine we're hearing his voice in echos from Wavecrests past.
That or seagull messengers.
Well holidays typically have consistent date patterns so I like to imagine it's like, a council of dragons who happen to know when Wavecrest should be on a given year based on the patterns who are announcing it.

With the return of Fathoms, it is a guy who just goes to where the Tidecaller kind of is babbling about nothing in the ocean.
Whether or not he actually hears the Tidecaller is a different story though.
Or. Its just the bubbles. The bubbles are his voice trapped and popping open to reveal the thread.
