but in reverse?
I've been saving treasure and gems for so long that I don't remember what was the last pricy thing I bought aside from the Hornhelm years ago. I was trying to save up for a Bone Fiend but then I started playing less and realized it's not really a realistic goal. Even so, I keep saving. Hoarding like a true dragon. I wanna buy some genes to finish up some projects before I lose interest in this game. For nostalgia and all. But I have this voice in my head calling to me... "what if bone fiend..."
Yall ever had a similar problem? Feels like giving up on a long term dream, even if it's just a silly game item.

I kind of have the same thing? I'll refuse to spend almost any money at all, then I'll blow a huge amount on something, then the process repeats. A lot of the time it's because I want to gene a G1.

i have the EXACT same problem i get u </3
i look at all these crazy expensive things, like ks/y1 items, and the logical part of my brain goes "it'd be best to save and buy the most expensive stuff first, then the next most expensive, until i never have anything to save up for and can freely have fun"
but...like...that takes a lot of time. it could be done super quick actually, but the savings goal i used to stick to just wasnt realistic for every day all year long. so i got to 1/3 of my goal and blew it because of The Hopelessness
and now im in a perpetual state of saving because spending currency feels bad
AUGH

I saved up the gems for a Metallurgist's Forgetools. It took forever. Now I'm trying to save up for a lair expansion.
After that, I'll see what I can spend my stuff on.

i just forgot i have things to spend money on at all.

just do it, it's all fake money anyway ;-)
but also there's no way to earn interest (as far as I know) so there's no advantage to keeping treasure

I considered saving up for big item but very shortly. I find finishing multiple geneing projects is more fullfilling than single expensive item that I can't even find for sale (UMAs rather than KS/old fest for me). if I had small amount of dragons I was attached to, then I would go for rarer stuff

I have the same thought- I've basically thrown my hands up and accepted no KS fams, but until my lair/hibden are fully expanded there's a part of my brain that simply will not be willing to spend on any other major purchases. I try to let the pressure valve off with some smaller apparel purchases to keep me from overspending out of frustration.

I go through cycles that usually end with me buying an expensive dragon and putting a nice skin and geneing it up but its a good satisfying cycle for me
