I've never been a horse fan, but I'm glad to see a truly wingless ancient. (Sorry, Sandsurge, the frilly bits are still basically wings.) Makes my hope for a pure snake ancient with a cobra hood for the secondary feel more realistic.

Oh... oh no. I have a nearly entirely non-ancient lair, never really loved the look of most of them. But this... this is scratching child-me's unicorn/pegasus/mythical-horse-shaped-being itch. Deeply.
Farewell, gems, it was nice having you.

Also, since the qirig familiars were changed to cerdae, were the Tomo questions about them updated as well?

Oops, uh, definitely! ... They definitely are now updated! [emoji=fathom laughing size=1] That's on me. Thanks for the reminder!

I really wish they would have avoided a girin-based design and leaned fully into the horse aspect instead, rather than step on toes with potential appropriation. I also feel like there were so many other more ancient-looking designs they could have went with that strayed away from the Asian inspiration, such as dragons themed after a pterosaur, a kite, a rooster/bird, a wayfinder, or an instrument.
I'm not against wanting to support Asian communities with the concept at all, but when Wind is the only flight that really has real-world cultural inspiration, I worry that releasing a girin-themed ancient is just continuing the appropriation that they claim to want to avoid. Why not start rebuilding Wind's aesthetic to be more generalized now?
Update disclaimer thing: I am not Asian myself but don't want to speak over others' voices! I'd love to see what everyone else thinks on the topic.

I like It! It's unique - maybe not really dragon looking but I wouldn't want another basic looking one
Its so pretty!! I suppose it being a gem breed was only natural, considering the other two dragons in wind are both treasure.
Im excited to play with it! I can just see the ghost vibes with the smokey wings/mane
Just imagine these guys with the ghost effects!!
