Not my most favorite breed but I think they have very solid art! All poses are equally appealing, plus they're an example of a standing pose done right, imo.

Gaolers are still one of my fave ancients which is pretty impressive considering how many we have now. They're everything that Tundras are missing for me

I like them more than newier ancients for sure (tho there isn't any ancient I very much like, depends on mood but they don't spark much for me). I struggle to find any ancient that I will like on AH in general (esp as I seem to see a lot of doubles and I am not interested in them much). I just see it as me being picky and moderns being prefferable

I love them! They're so fluffy and feral looking. I have a Snowy-Owl gaoler that I'm planning to eventually find a partner for. Their terts will vary, so they'd have a chance for pinions or winter coat!

My only issue with gaolers is how some of the genes looks. Gaolers as a design are so grounded that some genes and colors look bizarre. I'm a fan of neutral colored gaolers, I can't do pinks, greens, etc. Which makes them hard to add to my lair :(

A European Turtledove.
I love them! There was a while there where they weren't really anything I wanted to scry, in between the first "yay Gaolers!" and their first major gene expansion, but now that they have a solid range of genes with fun accent colors you can make some absolutely gorgeous dragons, and I now have G1 Gaoler gene projects that are near and dear to my heart. That said, because they're so furry, what genes I like on a Gaoler vs. what genes I like on another dragon isn't necessarily the same. So there is that! Harlequin/Jester is gorgeous on every dragon, though, I say with my obvious bias. [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=1]

I love Gaolers. I don't love their genes. Most of them are just so... underwhelming. Which is a shame because structurally, I really like them!!

Gaolers are still some of my favourite dragons altogether. There's something about how they're drawn that is so spectacular. I think they're fantastic

They're definitely some of my favorite Ancients! A lot of people in this thread have correlated their thoughts on them with their thoughts on Tundras, but personally i do not care for Tundras at all but still Love Gaolers!

I really like how versatile the gaoler design is - you can make an adorable gaoler, a majestic gaoler, a great lumbering Beaft of a gaoler, and many other things beyond. I still seek out cool ones to buy even though we have a bajillion other breeds now.

Har/jes might just be rarer bc it's a gem gene combo, but I'd keep an eye out for new hatches after NotN. People will have 1) more money to finish gene projects, 2) more time & space to nest their pairs.

gaogaos are my favorite breed!! I joined after they already existed so theyve never really had a novelty aspect for me, just always Da Bes [emoji=gaoler tongue size=1] however, in general I am NOT a person who often buys from hatcheries, I prefer to gene myself and I very very very rarely go looking on the AH for dragons to purchase aside from g1s or parents for breeding projects. I love gaos with harlejest but I'm just not the dragon buying market, you know? I wonder if thats true of other gaogao fans, like if theres any kind of positive correlation between gaoler favoritism and geneing ones dragons from scratch or the like
