TOPIC | so the auraboa lore update is here
...and I am thrilled.

Let me begin by saying I was not at all sure how to feel when I saw the announcement. I thought it would be a watered-down version of the old lore, with any form of conflict left out after the backlash. In short, I was prepared to hate it.

Boy, was I wrong.

The story, the characters, everything felt so much more immersive and alive. I can't explain how much I loved the story - it actually felt like I was getting a window into Sorneith's world and experiencing it, instead of just a brief explanation of why the breed was introduced. I was laughing and scratching my head along with the characters, and I really like how the Auraboa's speech was tied to the Loop and just. everything. wow. Basically it's taking every bit of my last braincell to not spam-ping the staff who wrote it and pour out a short essay about how much I liked the lore. In every aspect, it was so much better than before - not saying that past lore had been bad, but, this was just so enthralling to read. I would not at all mind having to wait a few months after each breed release if it meant getting this awesome quality of lore. You can really see the thought and care was put into every aspect of the story, and it shines because of that.

Anyways that's all, thanks for coming to my TED talk

(and on a personal note I am glad the core lore about the Loop remained so my own lore didn't suddenly become apocryphal)

I skimmed the lore. It’s a lot all at once for me to read. But I noticed the parental title “Zaza,” being used for one of the dragons and I was very excited to see non-binary titles represented in fiction. It’s a title that I’d like to use one day. :]

It's literally so much more clear, concise, and well-defined, kudos to the new writer! No offense to the devs and their previous work, but I adore the new level of style and detail Auras now have! Heck, it actually inspired me to flesh out the lore of my own Auras lol

Honestly, it just makes me even more excited for the Beastclans revamp, when (or if) that comes.

overall yeah!!! i liked this a lot!!! it also made it clear whats going on with the loop (which is appreciated. i remember being rather confused about that), and the looping speech pattern is also a really interesting piece of worldbuilding. so thats really cool !!!

I'll be honest, i'm never really one to read the lore that thoroughly, but i gave it a read because of the whole topic surrounding it. but i am glad they listened and went through with the changes that many users brought up. It seems a lot more thorough and written with care. The way the loop works in this new iteration is very interesting. I think it was a well deserved change. I wouldnt mind if they spent this long to make the rest of the lore for dragon breeds if its more concise, anyways.

Personally, i like that Clover gave themself a name for being 'in the here' with the modern dragons. I think it's cute that the hatchlings have a connection with their life in the Loop where they are all one and also their desire to work together as a community with the wildclaws and understand this dual facet of them.

[/quote] I appreciate the kind words and am so glad to see others enjoying the update as much as I did! I just want to give credit where it's due—@Aequorin and @Xhaztol had already put in the overwhelming majority of the work on this story when I got here, so my primary focus was on editing and continuing to apply the feedback from sensitivity readers. Everyone with a hand in the lore played a heavy role in rewriting, reviewing, and editing this into what you see today. It was quite a team effort, made all the better by those who were willing to put in the labor to provide critical sensitivity reviews along the way! [emoji=auraboa love size=1]

It was a lovely read, and the hatchlings were soooo adorable! Baby boas all wriggling and full of energy and attitude, eeee! Clover is such a dramatic little baby! <3
The Loop was much better explained this time around too, I loved figuring out the speech pattern along with Juniper, it really gives good insight into Auraboa culture! So cool!
