This is totally me lol. I adore dragons who have super cluttered outfits. For example, my dragon September. She looks perfectly fine without any apparel or skin:

But this is how she actually looks haha. She's not even that overdressed, but it's definitely hard to see her tertiary and her secondary is quite hidden too.

Also, @RallraxAuri - Cyr is absolutely stunning, wow!! His colours are gorgeous and his apparel goes seamlessly together, despite there being so much of it! I've seen him a few times before I think, and every time I do I just adore him. I wish I could like a dragon more than once lol. <3

It takes inhuman willpower not to overdress dragons, sure. I had to MAKE myself remove several apparel pieces from this XYZ G1 (he used to have all the apparel slots filled, but is at 16/20 now) so that you still could, welp, actually see him under the pile of apparel. Having all the apparel slots unlocked doesn't help at all, shouldn't have unlocked the last 3-5 I think.
Send help.

There is nothing wrong with overdressing. Just because the genes might not be immediately apparent to onlookers, the dragon STILL has those genes under there! It's about a cohesive combo, where everything works in tandem. If it does, you know you made it.

I'm not usually one to overdress dragons because I love looking at the cool colors, but that goes out the window with these gremlins:

Is it a piece of purple or pink apparel? If so, it's probably been on them at one point or another.

I, uh, feel this a lot. There's the entire first page of my lair, but I thought I would use Estella and Anda as examples

Estella naked, beautiful with nice neutral colors

:0 where did the blue and fire come from

Anda, not the prettiest but is the only dragon not exalted with her colors, 1 in 3 of all time

Can't even see her secondary or tert! It's fine if colors don't match, just cover in apparel instead
I'm guilty of this on my most recent buy lol
Here's what her scry looks like without apparel

Very matchy indeed, auburn fade works with lavender so well.
Then here's the outfit scry

You can barely see the wings at this point, but I enjoy the clutter !

I'll be honest, being overdressed stops me from liking a lot of dragons in dragon share that are probably gorgeous underneath. Especially in gene or colour showcase threads. What's the point of posting your dragon if you can't even see the gene or colour that's supposed to be shown?
But I understand the problem. There's a lot of apparel that can never be used if you want the genes to be visible. A single piece might be too much. It's like the game wants you to overdress! It's hard to keep the balance.

@Aterna
Yeah one of my fave terts is glimmer and, more often than not, I'm just like "lemme give you a sage cover and maybe combine it with some cloaks n robes n things" and then suddenly the dragon is swamped with only a speck of glimmer to be seen. xD

@SentientPumpkins
Perfect example with Estella there! I like that you can at least see just a bit of her sparkle tert too. c':
@Usoris
It may hide the wings but it matches and also gives them texture~~

We got large and small apparel. What about.. medium-sized apparel (that's not like floating extras like aura or flowerfall)? We don't have very much of that.
