this guide. 10 L10s is only 696,550 experience and it takes 1,363,652 experience to get to L25. It takes 19.5 of them or thereabouts.

I go to level 10 because I like the number and I do it while storing up fodder as I don't have that much space

I go to level 10 for a few reasons:
1) I like it when the numbers are nice and round
2) I don't buy much fodder (I breed my own most of the time, and just purchase the occasional derg when I need an even number for training), so I like to make the most out of them
3) I like training dragons! It's very satisfying when you get into the rhythm of it, and it gives my hands something to do without putting too much thought into it while still being productive!

I sometimes level to 10 when I want art for fodder and I don't have enough dragons at hand to do 5 or 7.

I'll keep the sweet spot in mind if i'll ever feel like filling up my hibden for Dominance specifically, thanks for the info! [emoji=familiar heart size=1]

i only level to 10 when plague is pushing because 1) more levels 2) that nice round 15-16kt . it also kind of gives me something to do if i'm bored lol.

I never level to 10 because I have both fully unlocked lair and den, but there are people who want to prepare for dom battles or OOF raffles during fest pushes and such, but lack space. Then it's better to level whatever few dragons you can accommodate to 10 than just level to 5-7 and wait while having nothing to do.

I only pre-train to level 10, but otherwise stick to level 5-7 during battles. For the pre-training, I just do 2 dragons a day, and over time, it adds up, without feeling too tedious and long.
I would imagine most level 10s you see in battles are pre-trained.

I used to do it cause I only ever leveled my own fodder I bred, and I didn't have that many dragons to work with. But somewhat recently I realized to max profit you should just buy dragons for fodder and you don't have to level them so high lol
