To me, snappers always equaled tortoises with wings and never looked weird or awkward to me -- just naturally chunky and powerful.

On paper, I should love them I adore Tomo and I enjoyed seeing Armik during the dustcarve event. But the poses in the breeds official art... It's bad. Really bad. I'm sorry, it's just really doing them dirty, it makes them look so ugly. The only pose I like for them are the babies but I can't afford to permababy every snapper I come across. So no, no snappers for me.

I believe a contributing factor is that they are rather big and bulky. Certain apparels just consume too much space and makes it hard to work with. Most of the time Snappers end up looking goofy or have a battle theme.

I love snappers. Started out liking the female pose and hating the male pose, but I have come around now and find the male pose has its benefits too.
I know some people say that apparel doesn't work on snappers but I say it can. Although be careful with items that cover a lot of the body as that can make snappers look like a mound of fabric. But apparel items always look different on different breeds. In my view some apparel looks awful on other breeds as well. It is just a matter of adapting and funding what suits the breed and rdragon.

I'm necro-bumping this because I came across it in a profile and I think it's an interesting topic.
I think Snappers are an interesting case because, from an apparel point of view, the emphasis on the face in male Snappers is very unique on the Flight Rising site. It allows certain facial apparel to be showcased in ways that other breeds can't.
However, this comes with the unfortunate side-effect that the male Snapper face looks super squashed and raised in a weird pose. So, overall, I like the potential and concept behind Snappers (especially the female pose and Tomo etc.) but it just looks weird with the males because the apparel potential was probably prioritized over consistency with the face's structure (which, I am assuming, isn't actually flat like a pug, but shaped more like the F Snapper).
The funny thing is, I have a lot of Snappers in my lair just because they showcase genes so well lol.
