yeah, I know what you mean, but I wanted to point that out just in case other people don't normally do them and thus don't realize they do give out the items needed.

i personally think this event is great but you can't please everyone. this is the best the staff could do with the huge mix of timezones and playstyles this website has. some of you have the time and want to grind a lot and do a lot of stuff and some of us don't! i don't think this event is boring for being accessible! but to each their own. i love this event and i'm excited to participate with everyone else to get to the end of it.
also i don't really think that the balance has been missed. if you give rewards to the players who have time to grind, then the people who can't will miss out and raise hell. the players who can grind are still participating in the event by bringing in lots and lots of materials and contributing a ton to sitewide progress. there is literally no way to make everyone happy here!

I think that this event is pretty neat! It's not the usuall FR style that's for sure, I saw something similiar in Lioden actually. I wonder how long will it be, and most importantly what will be the prize... If it's new modern breed then oh boi

This is how I feel about it too. I understand it might be a bit boring for those who want something to actively grind for, but obtaining rewards that way locks out the people who can't or don't want to grind, and I think for the Anniversary accessibility is the key. We have other events that prioritize grinding, like NOTN and the Fests, so I don't mind that they've changed it up here at all.

i believe that you believe there is a heaven
where you belong.

I'm sure many people have said it already but it's honestly all about: a) what sort of things you like b) whether you've had big and specific expectations for the Anniversary
Just like I predicted the Scenes through "landscape" for the last anniversary, I also was expecting a new, previously unmentioned feature for this one and I was right.

Or PERHAPS it's some sort of lore thing related to a new feature? Or a new set of festivals? NPC? I just don't know. Didn't I dream of a Ridgeback NPC recently...?

Look at me, I said new set of festivals (events). This is insane.

I feel like a lot of people over-hype themselves for upcoming things like this and then burn out in disappointment when said thing doesn't meet their high bar of expectations. Not just on FR, but on the internet in general.
I think this is pretty cool tho, I love the idea of community interaction events like this and I love that Earth is in the spotlight for it!

Spot on.
I'd love nothing more than to elaborate but, seeing as folks are still hellbent on hyping a new breed, I know it'll fall on deaf ears. All I'll say is, if it ends in a new breed reveal, awesome and I'll be adding some to my lair. If not, that's fine. I hope we get more site interactive events in the future. This works as a learning experience for staff and players alike so, future events like this would be improved upon and changed up for interactivity and even events that cycle. Either way, there will be those that don't like it and those that do, that's literally life in a nutshell.

It does seem to be directly connected to lore though. If you click on Velya she talks about the dragons that are part of the dig, one of which is a Water dragon that was mentioned in their BotE story. So possibly we'll finally be finding the Tidelord or at least something connected to him!

i just hope i don't miss a milestone because of timezones, otherwise im really excited for this. not just the event itself, but the fact that this may mean more events in the future! i think its rly cool nd staff clearly put a lot of work in it!!

They said in another thread that even if a milestone is reached, you can still add items to it, and they will keep that milestone open so as many time zones as possible can participate. Which, honestly is usually an issue in events like these, because the time zones with the most people playing are also usually the time zones that are awake at the time the events drop (usually America), and so those players zip through the events, leaving players in other time zones out.
