If I’m not mistaken, a lot of scp themed dragons I’ve seen are from Ice Flight, lol.
It makes perfect sense though.

The wind balloons/ kites being dragon skin was one of my first thoughts about working horror into wind lore. I also thought it’s pretty disconcerting if you have dragons that can literally just turn into wind. Getting snuck up on by invisible spirals would be pretty frightening for your average visitor from Dragon Home. And minus vacuum seal tech for lightning flight members, you’d never shake a wind phantom. They’d be able to get to you, so long as the tiniest of crack or pin hole exists.

Well Fire Flight has coatls and you could work with their distrust of hatchlings with pale plumage, for fear of disease. That in itself could go in different directions. Germiphobia and isolation. Being born with a magical illness or just being an eldritch horror by default?
Or firestorms and natural disasters. Failed fire wards and lose of flight entirely.
What lurks below... but it’s obsidian dune worms or lava fish.
Metal working gone awry just like lightning golems, but with animated suits of armor. Sapient swords. Glass figurines that come to life.

Mine used to be a sort of shadowy ghost focused lair (shadow flight) but now its mainly natural and earth based (earth flight)
i'm developing my lore right now, and a lot of it is going to be vaguely unsettling horror (like welcome to nightvale) rather than flat out violent horror. i love the cool horror aspects in each flight.

I think shadow horror, at least FR wise, is less "oh **** the shadow moved aaa we're gonna get eaten" and more "so, we have a deal then?" and botched immortality contracts. my lair is full of "these dragons have traveled into the realm of the fae (fae as in fairy and not the fr breed) and are now stuck"
