I've cobbled together a mage who can help my party survive the HORRIFIC toad bosses. To be clear, this build is good but not top tier for general grinding (fire seems best). However, it shines in boss grinding.
Element: Water
Stones: Meditate, Contuse, Drown, Rally, Ward
Stats: idk the optimal ones for this venue, so do something standard unless you have a better idea.
Reasoning:
- Water destroys fire and wind and resists wind.
- Ward helps with the toads (could be changed for Aid).
- Contuse could also be changed out for Aid but I like being able to deal with the melee fams and honestly, this venue drops so many potions I don't need Aid.
Update: On second thought, Ward might not be necessary (or good). It might be replaced with Reflect. The bosses seem to inflict burn and berserk pretty regularly if I let them hit.
Update: I've settled on Meditate, Contuse, Drown, Rally, and AID for the stones. Today is a Dodgy McDodgerson day for the monsters and I'm burning through potions far faster than I did last night.

Wow, you were quick to the battle scene haha!
I am still in the process of getting my first team up to level 25 (they are fighting in the portal now, just one to three fights at a time just for run), but I will definitely consider this build idea to deal with them horror toad things

A Water mage sounds ideal here, indeed! Maybe use something like a healbot build? It's fast and hits decently.
I tried my Light mage against the bosses, she's got Enamor and if you're lucky, the bosses get a status effect, leaving them stuck on using Meditate.

Haven't actually had a problem with the bosses at all! They tend to go down incredibly easy for me! I'm just using my workshop workers and I quickly stat and stoned another one of the physical attackers from that build. Mage (mine is wind) in the top, rally both of them. Obviously you need high breath and health for the bosses, but I've managed to consistently be at max in this venue so it's super easy!

Ada my wind mage is going okay, but this might be a good excuse to get a new mage.
Edit: also getting to level fodder, though haven't faced the terror toad yet.

you people are taking this seriously? i just grabbed my weird gw duo and they've been just fine. my tactic with the bosses has been the same as ever- just. bludgeon them until they stop moving

BLACK LIVES MATTER
I've been using my Workshop Crew pair plus a Mire Flyer in the third slot and it's been going just fine.
Both fighters are lightning so one almost got nuked by the wind boss, but other than that no problems to report.
I'm very much wishing I had more L25 dragons to mess around with though. All mine are spoken for in terms of build. Darn fodder money keeping me from leveling permas.

Help I'm trapped in a signature!
Good luck, @

Snaphance A healbot would work nicely if you didn't want to waste potions. And your light mage sounds clutch.
@
Viscere Yeah. The bosses seemed horrific at first because I didn't use a mage and had some of the wrong elements. I wanted to feel the terror.
@
Okapi Wind for life.
@
LordJeanliness Be careful with your lightning fighters against the bosses! Would hate for you to miss out on a fam drop.

Conveniently I already have a water mage (was not as good a plan for the Golem Workshop >.-.> but hey I was new and for lore reasons I wanted her to be a mage) but seems to be holding her own in this venue quite well with her two glass cannon companions.
Contuse, Aid and Drown keeps her running fine. I will probably replace concentration at some point.
Still going to look at a combo to level a fodder if I can. Try and get some familiars...
