A small crowd of dragons has gathered in front of a long table where 11 different dragons are seated. Each of the dragons at the table has a microphone and a glass of water placed in front of them. The dragon in the middle, a blue and white Guardian, taps her microphone. She winces at the high-pitched screech produced, but then clears her throat and starts speaking. "Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming out here today. My name is Brooke Wavefoam, and my fellow Exalts and I are here to answer your questions today." A green and white Tundra cuts in, interrupting Brooke. "That's right! We know that people have lots of questions they want to ask about all the different aspects of Exalted life. So instead of trying to fit everything into a set of letters, this year we're doing a live Q and A! You ask us your burning questions, and we'll do our best to give you answers!" At the other end of the table, an elderly Gaoler harumphs. “Ver De’aer! Mind your manners, young lady. Don’t you know it’s rude to interrupt others when they’re speaking?” Next to him, a brown and green Spiral rolls his eyes. “Oh lighten up, Asmondus. She’s just having fun. This is supposed to be a more casual thing anyways, so it’s not like you gotta be all uptight about it.” “While this is supposed to be a fun event for everyone involved, as Exalts we are expected to maintain proper decorum,” says a golden Mirror. “Brooke, may you please continue explaining?” “Thank you, Kingsley. As Ver mentioned earlier, this year, instead of each of us writing a letter about our backgrounds and Exalt duties, we’ve decided to take questions from a live audience and respond to them. Each of us comes from a different flight and has different duties, so we’ll each bring a fresh perspective to any questions you may ask. However, despite our different backgrounds, we are all united under a common purpose: serving the Tidelord and His Flight to the best of our abilities.” Next to Brooke, a tiny black and orange Banescale hatchling suddenly pipes up, having been too busy marveling at the crowd earlier to speak. “Oh! But Miss Brooke, isn’t Tidelord supposed to be missing or something? The other hatchlings told me about that last month. He’s been gone for years!” “Well, um, yes. That is true.” Before Brooke could come up with a proper response, a shadowy Pearlcatcher on Ember’s other side cuts in. “And so what? Tidelord or no Tidelord, Water Flight is still as strong as ever. This event is proof of that – it shows that the dragons of Water Flight can still keep things running smoothly even in His absence, and we’ll keep things running smoothly until He returns.” “In difficult times such as these, it is crucial for our community to band together and look out for one another. I couldn’t have said it myself.” With a smile, Brooke turned to address the audience again. “This Wavecrest Saturnalia, we want to share with you everything we and the Exalts you’ve sent to us have been up to since last year. So during the duration of this festival, feel free to ask us any questions you may have about our Exalted lives.” “Yes please, do ask questions! Please be kind and courteous to myself and your fellow Flight Rising players. 2. Do not ask any questions that go against Flight Rising's Terms of Service. 3. Please be patient! With how busy everyone is during festivals, sometimes it can take a while for the Exalts to get to your questions. 4. Throughout the duration of Wavecrest Saturnalia, people can submit questions to ask the Exalts. Their answers will be posted in a master post posted at the end of each day (around 21:00 FR time). 5. To ask a question, use the Question Submission Form below. You can pick one Exalt to answer your question, or you can ask multiple Exalts the same question, or you can pick "Anyone" and have a random Exalt answer your question. 6. While the Exalts will do their best to answer as many questions as they can, not every question will get answered, especially if there are lots of questions being asked or your question has been answered already. 7. I am subscribed to this thread. You don’t need to ping me unless you are asking one of the Exalts a question. 8. Aside from the response master post at the end of each day, there will also be special Bonus Posts that feature the Exalts conversing with each other about various topics. Bonus Posts are made sporadically (meaning, not on a set schedule AKA whenever I feel like writing them). Bonus Posts will be linked in Previous Responses just like the response master posts. 9. If you want to be added to the pinglist, just say so! Please specify whether you want to be added to the Daily pinglist, the Bonus Post pinglist, or both. Brooke Wavefoam
One of the Oracles for Tidelord's Exalts. Having been part of the Exalted ever since she was a hatchling, she is dedicated to serving the Tidelord and Water Flight to the best of her ability at all times. Mason Flintstone
A Peacekeeping Exalt who settles domestic disputes between Water clans. While force is always the last resort for Peacekeeping Exalts, he is fully capable of knocking sense into other dragons who refuse to see reason, and has had to do so in the past. His line of work has made him serious and cynical, but despite that Mason is still devoted to protecting innocent dragons and upholding the law.

She was adopted by the Tidelord's Exalts and is currently being raised among them along with the rest of the Exalted hatchlings. Ever since I joined the Deep-Sea Exploration branch of the Exalts, every mission has been terribly exciting! That’s all well and good for you Cosmodeus, but for your average Exalt daily life and battles tend to be much more dull. Some of them didn’t approve of a hatchling disturbing their work, but the Head Oracle allowed me to sit in and observe as long as I didn’t disturb the oracles. When I received my first vision, she helped me interpret it and guided me as I learned how to use my Foresight.[/columns] [columns][nextcol]Between the kindness of the oracles and my growing confidence in my Foresight, I always felt a strong connection to the Seeing Chambers. It wasn’t until I reached adulthood that I realized there was more to my feelings – the Seeing Chambers were my Charge, and my instincts were pulling me there so that I could stay close and protect it. As I am now one of the Tidelord’s Oracles myself, I already have to spend most of my time there anyways, so it worked out serendipitously. You could say that it was Fate that brought me right where I needed to be.[/columns] [columns][nextcol]Of course, my experience isn’t universal. Some Guardians, like me, find their Charges while Exalted, and have their Exalt duties arranged so that they can stay near their Charge. Other Guardians might bring their Charges with them when they are Exalted, particularly if their Charge is something small like a familiar or a precious stone. There are also Guardians who became Exalts not out of loyalty to their deity or flight, but simply because their Charge was Exalted and so they simply followed them.[/columns] [columns][nextcol]And then there are Guardians who became Exalts…after losing their Charges. Normally a Guardian would waste away in despair after failing to protect their Charges, but these Guardians joined the Exalted in hopes that they could atone for their failure via service to their deity. I…I pity those poor dragons. To have and be certain of a noble purpose you can devote your life to is a wonderful feeling. To have that purpose ripped away, and constantly feeling as if it were your own fault for not doing better…I can’t imagine how awful it must be.[/columns] [columns][nextcol]Every time I see one of those Guardians, they are surrounded by an aura of grief and guilt…I pray that their souls and the souls of their Charges find peace someday.[/columns] ---------- And here's the response masterpost for April 26th! Thank you to everyone who submitted a question today - the Exalts (and I) enjoyed coming up with responses! You can continue to send in questions throughout the week of Wavecrest, though the next response masterpost won't be until tomorrow. I'm off to bed now - got an exam I need to take tomorrow morning.

When I received my first vision, she helped me interpret it and guided me as I learned how to use my Foresight.
byCHzJm.png Between the kindness of the oracles and my growing confidence in my Foresight, I always felt a strong connection to the Seeing Chambers. You could say that it was Fate that brought me right where I needed to be.
byCHzJm.png Of course, my experience isn’t universal. Some Guardians, like me, find their Charges while Exalted, and have their Exalt duties arranged so that they can stay near their Charge. Other Guardians might bring their Charges with them when they are Exalted, particularly if their Charge is something small like a familiar or a precious stone. There are also Guardians who became Exalts not out of loyalty to their deity or flight, but simply because their Charge was Exalted and so they simply followed them.
byCHzJm.png And then there are Guardians who became Exalts…after losing their Charges. To have that purpose ripped away, and constantly feeling as if it were your own fault for not doing better…I can’t imagine how awful it must be.
byCHzJm.png Every time I see one of those Guardians, they are surrounded by an aura of grief and guilt…I pray that their souls and the souls of their Charges find peace someday.

And here's the response masterpost for April 26th!
