@Alphazi
Sorry to ping you here, but your dragons are gorgeous! You did a great job with them!

I like super busy dragons who look like a mess, because all of the dragons in my lair are ugly and I want to hide the shame.
I also like going to a lair and think "wait, how does this dragon look? Is it male? Female? Which breed is it? Let me scry their colours and gene" and maybe find out they're way better with the apparel on

Never enough.
The amount of apparel isn't always the problem. You can have ugly outfits with 3 pieces and really cool looking ones with 20.
We like simpler looking outfits personally but we don't judge people for throwing all the apparle on their dragons :D What matters is that they like how their lair looks.

Eh, it's not the number of pieces for me, it's how they're used. If the outfit looks nice or has a clever idea behind it, then it's a successful outfit.
@MasterMmmm @Lonin Those outfits are things of beauty and grace

I... like lots of apparel. ;;
Please don't hate on other people's choices, each to their own and all that! People have different tastes and that's okay. Just because you don't like a lot of apparel doesn't mean it's wrong for other people to.
Personally, I love a well-dressed dragon! How much apparel they have varies, but most of mine have it stacked on and I love them, wouldn't have them any other way.
Tl;dr how much apparel is too much? Depends on the person! There is no objective "too much", just different aesthetics and tastes. Which is part of what makes FR so great. ^^

agree with this - there's no reason to rag on other people's preferences and a few posts in this thread seem mean-spirited - especially when you imply their lair is a mess due to preference differences!!

Die of Bargaining
Familiar
Don't like the roll fate has dealt you? A reroll would only cost you a trifle. Why not make a bargain?
I like minimalist outfits, and I like covering complex outfits too, so the number of pieces is not the issue for me. Mostly I just dislike when an outfit uses several pieces that overlap in really cluttered looking ways, like spamming flowerfalls with candles and grasps and lanterns and wisps and the seasonal windy things (well, usually not literally all of these at the same time, but you get what I mean).
Sometimes you just wanna show of the dragon's genes or accent an only slightly accentuate it with a piece or two, sometimes you want a warrior protected head to toe by armor and sturdy clothes or a priest dressed in covering, elaborate ceremonial robes. Depends on the situation!
