Oh I've got a funny story for this!! My first primal was SURPRISE. Why the weird name? Well, she just so happened to hatch on April Fools day!! I was almost worried the staff had played some trick where the eyes on all your dragons were switched up and that her primal eyes would disappear the next day, but she here she is, my wonderful first primal :)
I've hatched more primals since then, as well as the other eye types, and enjoy collecting them (Hence why I have a special eyes tab in my HD)

This is Bryn. She's my first and only primal. She's also my dream dragon. I bred her with the intent of breeding a pretty triple obsidian to use as my clan founder. I wasn't sure if I was going to use obsidian or silver, but I was leaning on obsidian since it's been my favorite color since I joined. I bred her parents with the intent of hatching one nest on the first of October and another on my birthday. I wasn't expecting anything special. I wanted a female triple obsidian, and I'd been hatching nests of all males, so I just hoped I had a girl.
Then she hatched. Shadow primal is my favorite primal. I'm quite happy in Shadow, so I had every intent of building my lore around the flight. Lo and behold, I hatched a triple obsidian Shadow primal. She's going to be the basis of my lore and one of the main lore dragons I have. She's also my favorite dragon.
Bryn is the only primal I've ever hatched, and I'm never selling or exalting her. She's got a special hatchday (special to me, at least), she's my favorite element, she's home-bred, [i]and[/i] she's a primal. Quite the hatch for me.[/font]

Oh man, this has been my long-term project. I was on hiatus when the eye update came around, so I don't remember when I came back. Maybe around 2018 Riot of Rot and I hatched my first primal in the following March. But I know it's been 285 days between my first and second primal. And now I'm on day 33 and counting ...
I absolutely wanted to keep my first primal because I'm usually not sentimental about my dragons. I needed a challenge or at least a fun project, so no more random fodder babies for me. It's been harder than I thought it'd be and my lair is still in chaos so ... success?

I feel I was fortunate, my breeding pairs were an absolute mess and I didn't know exactly what I was trying for. But I was throwing them on nests anyway, quantity over quality. Out popped a handsome imp I was iffy about, I turned him into a Gaoler later and won't ever regret it. I don't think I could've done better if I tried.
Maybe I'll go along with the same theme and change my second primal into the newest ancient. I think he'd look fun as a banescale, once it's easier to get my hands on a scroll. I swear though, there's something about my lair and lavender; it's not my favorite color but it shows up all the time when I'm not looking.

This gal! From a Scattersight! I wanted all my flight reps to have Uncommon+ rarity so I wasn't lookin for anythin in particular for her,,, but dang she's great.
