Ok, so Gaolers seem to be the ancestors of Tundras and Guardians. Just look at them.

So... what are Banescales the ancestors of?

Clearly they're at least the ancestors of the Ridgebacks.

But what else are they?
I'm leaning towards Fae, myself.

They have similarities in their wing shapes and placements, and the Banescale elbow fins look a lot like the head fins that Fae have. And those teeny-tiny arms that Fae have are about the right size to have evolved from something that didn't have arms at all.
What do you guys think?

Aequorin has said that Banescales aren't ancestors of Coatls at least, and I have a feeling that they didn't have the chance to evolve into anything else at all even besides Coatls, since they were wiped out entirely.

I just think they're their own thing.

Gaolers are proto tundras, sure, but not guardians. And The Banescales are their own thing, not proto anything.

Yeah pretty sure evolution isn't canon sadly, as much as I would have loved gaolers to be ancestors to tundras or banescales to coatls.
