i basically just keep dragons that are my favorite colors, which happen to fit the whole light lair aesthetic. some of them are a bit different, but overall i think they fit together.

Color gradients and cool outift (plans) for tabs with a bunch of different dragons and aesthetics, and/or seperate tabs with specific lore and aesthetics i.e cowboys, scientists, mages...

My lair mostly happened by accident. Just...collecting what I like and it exploded.
But really, if you're not happy with your lair and your hatchery is holding you back, then do take a break from your hatchery and maybe discover an aesthetic you do like! Then redo your hatchery around the new pairs you like.
My hatchery really shapes my aesthetic. I just kind of started to breed what I liked, and a theme emerged. Each of my tabs bears a sub-theme, but they all tie to the idea of the wind (I'm in Wind flight) being a blank page, like the flyleaf of a book.
And then you have my hibernal den, which is all the dragons I don't really breed but love, or projects, etc. Some of those are completely other than my aesthetic, but most still fit.

I didn't. With this many color and gene and breed and apparel options out there, why on earth would I limit myself to an aesthetic falling within an itsy bitsy range?
I have like 13 aesthetics, but they're be organized by color.
I have so many because I like many different things, an never really could settle on one aesthetic for my entire lair. Instead I had each page have its own aesthetic(s).

i had a bunch of mismatched dragons too and i decided the best way to make it better was to just organize everyone in rainbow order and so far that's worked for me. i can't limit myself to one color scheme so the closest i could get to aesthetic is making them roygbiv lol
maybe your lair would look more cohesive if you made it rainbow also? then you wouldn't have to get rid of any dragons

I don't really aim for an aesthetic, I just categorize dragons by role (scolars, xz craftsmen, farmers, etc) and I'm quite satisfied with the results.
