i always do 8 unless i forget im already at 8 and accidentally do 9

i level up till 10-13 and wait to exalt until there's a xp bonus
i don't buy fodder and only level my own hatchlings, so it isnt as time consuming

I haven't really done any exalting in a while, but normally, I exalt at 6 or 7. Usually, I do 6 because it's quicker and I get bored of training dergs very quickly.
