What is more frightening is that every day more undead familiars and Beastclans can be seen roaming the lands, all ambling on in the direction of the Wendigo. [i]Wyrmwound Laboratories[/i] claims to be making headway on their research and have scheduled a Press Conference to announce their findings on October 25th. The Undead Wendigo remains at large one week after it first startled innocent Sorniethians. Daily countless new sightings are reported, but the Wendigo has evaded all attempts for capture and neutralization. We are focusing our search efforts in the Sunbeam Ruins, and any person that lends a claw by participating in any RoR activity can claim the badges of honor. Riots have begun in the streets where the paths of the Undead have passed. Clans concerned for their own safety are going to extreme measures to secure food and clean water, fortifying their lands to keep out intruders. Untrusting of everyone because your neighbors can be fine one day and seem to be not of their own mind the next. No one knows how it spreads, or how to stop it. You and your merry band of dragons are concerned about the lack of an update. [i]What have the scientists found? Where have the undead been seen last?[/i] Information has been spotty as Sornieth descends into chaos. Despite your best judgement, you arm up with weapons and decide to quickly patrol the Wyrmwound in the hopes of finding a poster or something. After hours of wandering a yellowed piece of paper flapping in the wind catches your eye. You wearily sigh and go to grab what you hope is an update. [indent]October 25, 2016 Dear Sornieth, After countless hours studying our undead specimen I have make an alarming discovery... this creature is host to [i]Ophiocordyceps unilateralis[/i], better known as the zombie fungus. This explains the slow progression of infection and the loss of free will for the unfortunate hosts, and if we cannot find a cure the result will be catastrophic. What we do know is that the fungus spores somehow affix to the heads of its host, so it appears that socks and other face-covering masks [i]were not a conspiracy theory despite what you all thought of me[/i]. My lab will continue to research for a cure, in the meantime it is important to get the word out to the areas of Sornieth not yet visited by Patient Zero Wendigo.
