After I ran out of nearby towns, I started using bones. I just finished the wrist bones (so I've got both a Trapezioth and a Trapeziuth, ugh).
Everyone named in my lair ends in -th. Cuz McCaffrey.
Fodder gets the randomizer treatmenth.

The majority of mine are either from a book I'm currently reading or from one of my favorite games. Or I give them a Sindarin elf name.
Sometimes though something about them just inspires a new name!

Everyone in my lair gets Slavic names. Why? Who knows. I wanted a cohesive naming theme.

@ellensaurus
Latvian of all things, huh B)c as resident Latvian I approve of this but also question you, our words are weird why would you do that.
All of mine are mostly ancient or fantasy names, then there's Sound Horizon names, Mythology names, just misc names, aaand inanimate object names. Essentially 'whatever' bc I'm too lazy to keep naming rules or patterns.

I've been using a mix of names from the randomizer, fictional characters (Hawkeye, Hawkguy, Nimona, Kamala, Aziraphale, etc), mythology (Nyx, Eleutherios, Morrigan), and things from this document of 400+ names I compiled a few years ago for use in my writing. I haven't renamed any dragons that already had names though.

Almost all of the dragons I have named myself are named after Marvel characters: Clint, Kate, Valkerie, Munroe, Mackenzie, Bobbi, Phil, Claire, Murdock....
There are some exceptions, like my flight ambassadors, characters, and that one Noc whose parents were Motley and Crue - I had to name him Mick (as in Marrs).
