Hatching dragons.

Oh, I was like you. I didn't really go on forums a lot and was kinda shy. heck, I got my first friend on flight rising after like a month or so. And yes, the people here are amazing nice. Once, on a thread called 'what is your fr dream item?', I said that I wanted a riot hazebeacon. The next day, I got three messages from 3 different people who gave me riot hazebeacons. Amazing.

Everyone is friendly, the forums are engaging, and the interface is so clean and easy to use. The artwork is also gorgeous, and the mechanisms for breeding and any other function are easy to understand. Also dragons are lit.
the community is super friendly
i also have a huge amount of respect for the devs, as you can tell they really care about the game and those that play it

There are a LOT of things, but I think what makes me prefer FR over other breeding/pet collecting sites is the art. It's so lively and high quality! Plus the interface. It has a very professional look that I think other pet sites are pretty much always lacking in. I know being unpolished is not what makes a game bad by any means, but it bothers me for some reason.
As for actual site activities, hatching dragons and talking in the forums are my favorites!

Wing able to have dragons and have them look exactly how I want them to. But I also enjoy coming here as a distraction from my home life outside of FR and it helps keep my depression at bay to focus on something positive.

How customizable the dragons are. You can have 500 completely unique individual pets with different colours, genes, their own custom accent, 20 pieces of clothing, a familiar, customizable bio etc etc. That's crazy. Having played neopets in the mid 2000's as a kid, I feel like a starving person who walked into a buffet. [emoji=guardian laughing size=1]

The freedom of doing almost anything with your dragons. Like, wow.

This, basically.
Unpopular opinion, though : definitely not the community. Don't get me wrong, there are adorable people here, and wonderfully creative and funny, but overall, I find the general atmosphere pretty toxic, compared to the few other forums I've been to. I see way too much negativity in a place that is like an escape from reality for me and it's wearing me down. There's a reason I rather stay away from the forums.
