Everyone is welcome to play, but only Out of Flight players get raffle tickets. If you miss a few days, check this top post for a Twine game to get caught up. The story runs from 7/24/2022 to 7/31/2022. This is a game where a new bit of story is introduced each day you will have to choose between two choices. The choices you make influence how your story will end. All choices must be submitted through the google form links in order for it to count. If you miss a few days or join late, feel free to jump in by using the Twine game to get caught up! At the end of the week, there will be a raffle for all participants. You can earn two tickets by filling out the google form each day and one ticket for making a detailed roleplaying post in this thread, for a total of three tickets per day. If you participate every day, you earn a bonus 4 tickets. You cannot earn tickets for any missed days. Check out the Rules in the second post and the prizes in the third. More prizes will be revealed as the story advances!

Day 1

The large, white and blue striped tent took up a surprisingly small amount of space in the west pavilion. It was surrounded by other administrative tents. This area wasn't the place for fair attendees, but rather for important fair workers

You pass under a large sign reading Works of Finest Fanfare- The most electrifying firework displays in the Expanse!'] and are greeted by the cool dimness of the tent that is almost completely packed with crates and crates labeled with warning signs. There's a mirror disinterestedly picking through pile of papers. He gives you a blank stare when he finally notices you.

"Oh. You must be the volunteer. Welcome to Finest Fanfare. Best fireworks or whatever. Thanks for your help. I mean it." He doesn't look like he means it and the monotone isn't helping. "Without you I'd have to do everything. Again."

He sighs and motions you over.

"I'm Rais. You'll be sticking with me, newbie. Let's go get you introduced to the boss and get our marching orders." He doesn't wait for you and exits the rear of the tent.

You're about to follow when you hear a voice from behind you.

"Pisst! Hey, over here!!" There's a clawed hand peeking out of one of the crates. A finger motions you over, getting more and more insistent.

"You don't want to join those fake firework enthusiasts at Fanfare!" The claw makes a booing sound and gives a thumbs down. "They're posers who stole the honor of the fireworks display from the most awesomest firework company in the whole expanse: Innovative Entertainments!" The claw makes an excited jazz hand.

"So whaddya say? Want to help us put on the best fireworks display the Expanse has ever seen that will shame Fanfare straight out of business??!!"

She loves big, loud extravaganzas -- the more energetic and colorful, the better! -- which is why she's found her way here. She's been looking into adding some (very safe) pyrotechnics to clan celebrations -- perhaps she'll find something useful, with an adventure or two thrown in.... ----- [b]Day 1[/b] "Actually, I wanted to ask about..." Chess allows the phrase "price quotes" to die on her tongue. It feels so weird to be asking about these -- one of her clanmates usually handles props purchases -- and anyway, it doesn't seem as though Rais is interested in making sales. [i]"I guess I'm in the wrong tent. Or maybe I'm actually in the [/i]right[i] one?"[/i] She smiles to herself as she thinks about it: It's a chance to see the operations from the inside. That could be fun, too! She's about to follow Rais when the unseen dragon interrupts her. The offer is very tempting, but Chess isn't sure if she's entirely on board. It doesn't seem safe, and she needs things to be [i]safe[/i]. She smiles wanly at where she guesses the other dragon's face is. "Sorry, gotta go! Uh...business calls, y'see." She waggles her tail in farewell as she scampers off after Rais.

They like to be over-the-top sometimes and adore pretty or shiny things, which is why he wanted to dabble in the fireworks display and join in on the festivities! ----- [b]Day One[/b] Having stepped into the tent to meet Rais, Bellatrix scrunches his nose at the mirror's monotone voice as he drones about receiving orders or what not. The latter's blasé tone grated on Bella's ears, though the purple feathered coatl still smiled sweetly at the mirror nonetheless, their eyes sparking of innocence and intrigue. "Yes sir, comrade, sir!" he chirped in response to Rais' intructions, straightening and using a wing to salute as though taking commands from a drill instructor. Humming a bit pensively, they tilted their head to the side. "I have a quick question though; what kind of-" Bella's voice cut off as he realized that Rais had promptly exited the tent without a second glance, feeling somewhat petulant as they lashed their skinny tail once and looked to their claws with a dramatically heartbroken, "How could you leave me?" Just as he was about to follow the mirror out to the back, though, another voice broke through his thoughts and caused them to pause, perusing around to identify the source of the voice. He finds it after a brief moment, pale lavender eyes glowing in the dimly lit tent as they land on a clawed hand and glimmering in amused excitement. Now this seemed much more interesting. Taking a glance over at where Rais had disappeared -- and had yet to come back -- Bellatrix shuffled over to where the claw was beckoning them, leaning forward as curiosity danced within his gaze. "Hello there?" he mused quietly in what was hardly more than a whisper, interest piqued as a vague grin sauntered across their features. "So what have I to do?"

He loves making and inventing new devices, so this Thundercrack would be a special exemption for him, as he could perhaps put his engineering knowledge to use! Except he has never made a firework before, though. ---------------- Azmath enters the tent and stands there, not knowing what to say. He was wondering if it was rude to say something to the busy dragon, when said dragon looked up and noticed him. The coatl nodded quietly at the Mirror, feeling nervous. He wasn't used to interacting with other dragons and this Mirror seemed to be all business. He fidgeted as he looked all around the tent, glancing at crates labelled with warning signs. Were there things he could tinker with in there? He would much rather prefer doing that than participating in social interactions with a dragon that seemed unfriendly. When the claw motioned him over, he considered for a moment. On one hand, he didn't want to offend anybody, but on the other hand, he couldn't see himself working with a strict colleague. Azmath hopes he wouldn't end up getting reprimanded. Did the dragon say 'innovative'? He was definitely interested in making things as best as he can. "I'll help you," said Azmath. "What do I have to do?" He was nervous, wondering if the scary Mirror would come back again.
