The sounds of bickering voices pulls you from the festivities and portals and excitement to find a pair of rune covered mages pointing to different sections of a book.
"An unbiased party with a fresh mind and fresh eyes!" the mirror cheers, scampering over to you to sit on her haunches and regard you with all four eyes, "just what we need! You see, my fellow researcher, Eclipse and I-"
"We're married, Iblis!"
"We are but that's not relevant right now." She grins at him though, "don't mind him, he overthinks things. I try to be more go with the flow, say the first things that come to mind, which is how we've ended up in our current arguement."
Eclipse cuts in at this point, the Pearlcatcher checks a watch as he speaks, "yes. We specialize in enchanting. Books, weapons, armor-"
"Ourselves that one time," Iblis sticks out one foreleg so you can admire the runes on her hands and going up her wrists, "makes us look fetching doesn't it?"
"Ourselves, preferably not other dragons," Eclipse continues, "to get to the point, when it comes to me and Iblis, words have power. And we're trying to figure out the best words."
"So we're taking words and making more words out of them to see if that can't make them stronger and whether or not that does anything to portals if we use things we've enchanted with these words and opening more!" Iblis considers it, while your head is spinning, "and closing a few. Not every word is a good word to open a portal with. But half of science is making mistakes, and what is magic if not science with a lot of energy and potential to explode?"
She claps her hands together and you're starting to remember Arcane's reputation for accidentally causing disasters, "so you'll help us right?"
"We've probably got some enchanted items for you if that would convince you to lend us a hand," Eclipse offers. "If you're interested, just let Iblis know to tell you what word we're working with today."
