Roles
The Villagers
Sun-kissed folk live in the merry town of Adan. Toiling the fields and harvesting from the bountiful woods just beyond their blessed thin borders, these folk made a good living indeed. Nothing troubles them, beyond the occasional rainstorm…or
dog bite.
Aurii
also known as Civilians, Townsfolk, or Sheep
Golden-faced, shimmering inhabitants of Adan. The Aurii have never experienced much trouble in their lives. Indeed, these merry folk are fond of growing goldenberries they sell at the market and napping in the sun.
This role has no special powers. They may be more than one per game.
Rubysniffer
also known as Detective or Cop
A casual onlooker might suspect this Aurii of foul play, for they sneak around in the shadows. They creep from mystery to mystery, hunting for clues and connecting threads together. So named after her first victory, the Rubysniffer claims she is the best detective in the entire country. Her mother would say she's read one too many detective novels.
Once every night, the Rubysniffer can target a player to learn their role. There is only one per game.
Bloodhunter
also known as Vigilante
One of the very few Aurii who has ever ventured beyond the golden borders, beyond the silver-and-golden-leaved trees, a thousand years ago. They embarked with much joy and wonder at seeing the Great Beyond. They returned…different. Dull red stains had baked into the skin around their hands and feet, mottling off at the elbow. Their skin, bleached by an unknown power to a pale, jaundiced yellow, revealing the gold and silver veins beneath their skin. The Bloodhunter does not speak of their times away from the Village of Adan. The townsfolk do not ask. Over time, the Bloodhunter has reintegrated themselves into society, as a seeker of lost objects, or a finder of solutions.
Though gentled by the years, an evil spark remains in the depths of their eyes, betraying a willingness to do what is necessary…
Once every night, the Bloodhunter can murder a player. There is only one per game.
Fleshcaller
also known as the Doctor
A fresh-faced Aurii, well versed in the magical arts, both dark and light, of flesh magic. They are an adept in stitching together cut pieces of flesh, removing metal shards and tools from a hurting Aurii, and in general, an excellent scientist. Despite the Fleshcaller's fearsome name, they are welcomed wherever they go in the town of Adan. They are a righteous and courageous soul, and will lay down their life to do what is right.
Once every night, the Fleshcaller can shield a player from death. There is only one per game.
Ironsinger
also known as the Jailor
Strong and stout, this Aurii works with metals of any kind. They are a blacksmith, singing metal into whichever shape they will, whether it be farming implements, weapons of war (of which there is little need for in Adan), pottery, dishes, or lately, modern art. The Ironsinger has recently developed a knack for collecting metal litter from the countryside and singing the pieces into the latest avant-garde masterpiece…in their eyes. The Aurii often joke that the hideousness of the Ironsingers' works of art scare away all the evil from their town.
Unbeknowst to all the Aurii, the Ironsinger served in the War, such a long time ago. Underneath their house lies a storeroom, ordinarily used to house the Ironsinger's emergency weapons, extra rations, or perhaps…a suspected evildoer.
Once every night, the Ironsinger can target a player. This player is skirted away to the Ironsinger's jail cell, where they can ask the prisoner two questions, relayed through the GM. The prisoner is shielded from all attacks and blocks. There is only one per game.
Breathtaker
also known as the Escort
The Breathtaker is a mischievous little imp of an Aurii. Nothing pleases them better than to sneak up to unsuspecting farm animals, and to take their breath away. Beguiling the creatures with entertaining visions, cunning riddles and sweet stories, the Breathtaker enchants his "victims" into a stupor-like state of bliss. Many farmers in the town of Aurii have vowed never to do business with him; on the other hand, his gifts are beneficial to those suffering from night terrors and trauma.
In the upcoming battle, his gifts will be employed in a wholly different manner…
Once every night, the Breathtaker can target a player, and block them from performing any action for a night. There is only one per game.
Lord Auron
also known as the Mayor
Lord Auron is the Lord of the town of Aurii. Installed by the King and Queen Under-the-Mountain far away in the Behemoth Mountains, they have ruled over the town for centuries. A wise and kind Governor they dole out justice and mercy amongst the Aurii. They are trusted and loved, and are a voice that can tilt the scales for or against a person.
Lord Auron can reveal themselves during the Day phase, after which their vote counts as two for as long as they are alive. There is only one per game.
Argentia
also known as the Medium
Argentia is a Silversmile, from the city of Antiqua, far far across the sea. Argentia is skilled in the art of world-weaving. They can travel amongst the many worlds and universes, changing and tweaking their form to stay alive through the different conditions they encounter.
Once per night, Argentia can converse with dead players. They may prepare two questions per player, and an order of who they'd like to speak with the most. Only one set of questions will be answered, however.
Note: this is done to minimize the chance of getting no answers at all.

The Beasts
Basal One
also known as the Godfather
The Basal One first arrived in the town quietly, hidden in plain sight. Dirt-ridden and sloven, none of the townsfolk noticed the Basal One taking up residence in an abandoned shack just on the edge of the forest. The Basal One prefers to linger in shadow, and direct others to do his cruel bidding.
He has only one desire--to drink the blood of as many Aurii as he possibly can.
The Basal One directs all Beast activity. He is immune to the Bloodhunter's attacks and to the Ironsinger's traps. They appear as an Aurii to the Rubysniffer. There can be only one per game.
Famulor
also known as the Mafioso, or the Werewolf
The Famulor is a foul creature, synthesized from darkness tainted with pure evil. The Basal One created this Famulor from the darkest shadows at the bottom of a well, and his own blood.
The Famulor is the arms of the Basal One, carrying out his will.
The Famulor is an evil beast brought to life; it kills on the command of its parent. There must be at least one per game-if the Famulor is killed, the Basal One will slay one of his allies, and create a new one. There may be more than one per game.
Illusere
also known as the Consort
The Illusere is a cloud being, seduced to the ground by the Basal One. Ordinarily sweet and mild, this Illusere has decided to throw in its lot with the Basal One, for riches.
The Illusere carries out the deceptions of the Basal One, throwing obstacles in the path of the Aurii.
The Illusere blocks on the command of its master. Once per night, it can stop a player from acting. There is only one per game.
Vistara
also known as the Watcher
Vistara is a playful little devil. She bathes in fire, and bakes the sweetest of goods, using a delicacy only found in the Aurii. Noticing the Basal One's arrival in her town, naturally, she saw an opportunity to procure her favorite ingredient.
Unwilling to expose herself to bodily danger, she watches the goings on at night.
Vistara targets a player to learn of their night actions. She will see a player leave, but not learn what they did, or where they went. If a player visits the player she is watching, Vistara can tell what happens, but not who the visitor is. There is only one per game.
