A full frown was present on Nyissas' face now. "I was hoping that Makala's death would be an isolated event. I'll do my best to figure out what the poison is, but since we don't know the symptoms she experienced I make no promises. Thank you for letting me know." with that, he began his walk to Kermadec's den.

There was no telling of the Pearlcatcher's passing at first glance, aside from her laying at the table as she was. With a sigh, he grabbed the notebook from his bag and set to work outlining a report (there was no reason to, when both leaders were dead, but the small familiarity was welcome). Moments after beginning the notes, he was finished for the time being and went on to the drink. The glass' contents seemed faintly discolored, but gave nothing else away. He spent some time puzzling over it before picking his notes up once more. Maybe he could ask Alexandra to see if she had any ideas. Until then, he still had to find someone to help move Makala's body into a grave, and then make room for Kermadec's near it.

Voix walked through the hallways, keeping his wings tucked-in close to his body. Noticing the other dragons who were starting to congregate near the entrance of Kermadec's den, he wandered over. "What happened here... ?" he asked, trailing off when he saw the slumped-over body.

Orion slipped into the solid world when the rising sun made the shadows too small to stay within. It didn't take long for him to realize that another had died during the night. Poison in Kermadec's drink, apparently. Which left their clan without a leader. The imperial grumbled in an odd language as he limped over to her den, gazing in through a window to observe the scene. Orion noted the skill needed to toss a poison in, accurately, from the window of all places. Most certainly someone with skill in ranged weapons, at least. Perhaps either their hunter or warrior had some vendetta against their clan? Though the more likely suspect seemed to be Sorrow, as hunters nearly always used ranged weapons.
Orion votes for Sorrow

Uzume had a fitful sleep that night. She hoped this was all over because more deaths was going to take a toll on her mentally. The memory of dragons with their poisoned daggers ready to take the lives of her and her siblings was an all too painful and real memory. Come a few more and sleep would be hopeless.

No such luck it seemed.

She woke up way too early in the morning, exhausted, and threw herself into her work until the sun had risen and crawled steadily toward midday. She wanted something to eat and her foxes had eaten her supply of work snacks again so she was forced out of her den and towards the others. Then she saw the crowd and Sorrow hurriedly begging Nyissas for help with a... poison. Well she could forget about sleeping until she returned to her home village. She half walked half tripped in the crowd to try and make sense of what happened. Kermadec? Dead? The leader they had just put in charge yesterday? Uzume put a talon over her eyes. It was too early for this nonsense and she was tired. She watched the others examine the body with practiced hands. Her form was slumped over in a way Uzume was familiar with, the form of someone who had been peacefully going on with their life only to find themselves on death's door in the blink of an eye. Chances are they hadn't been disturbed or even been made aware of a second presence. It must have been a skilled hand that got the substance in without making a sound. An open window. That would be... alarming but she knew killers as frightfully skilled as that existed.

Three dragons sprung to mind but she quickly let go of Jadeite for his size. Warriors weren't particularly known for this kind of work anyway. Now a hunter would know, some animals could only be taken down that way. But... so would a herbalist or even a healer...
"Arrrrrg I can't think straight." she growled.

Hati held the peacock feather quill in her hand, rushing and jotting down notes that could help them identify the murderer. This was confusing. She suspected Sorrow, as a hunter needs accuracy, an could have some knowledge of poison, although a healer, environmentalist or herbalist could have some knowledge of poisons as well. As for the reason of the kill? Not much is known. She put down the pen, satisfied of her results.

Thank you!
Sorrow, starting to feel eyes on her back, probably due to the method the killer had chosen, figured that she should get serious about her voting if she didn't want to leave. She pondered just letting herself be exiled, getting her away from whoever was recklessly killing their fellow dra- No. That would just make her an easy target. Remembering that Orion was under suspicion last time, and would likely still get votes, she scratched down a name.

Sorrow votes for Orion.

Jadeite awoke late the next morning, having slept in after patrolling the clan's territory late the night before, hoping to catch something of a murderer. But of course the night before Jadeite didn't see or hear anything. As soon as he left his den he spotted the commotion near Kermadec's den, as he made his way over a sense of dread filled him, as he realized the killer likely struck again.

He peered into the pearlcatcher's den, surveying the scene inside. Their newly appointed leader was dead, poisoned. The imperial carefully considered who could have done this. The accuracy and the thrown poison pointed to Sorrow, the clan's hunter. Although Jadeite simply couldn't believe that a hunter would have the necessary knowledge of poisons to commit such a crime. Which left him with the next two most likely options the clan's healer or the clan's herbalist. He just couldn't decide which one could have done this.

"The Narrator had no trouble sleeping any other night. However, the nightmares of the mere sight of a clan mate splayed dead across the floor kept waking her in the dead of night. Some of the best stories never make it to the public, and she was afraid that hers would end just as suddenly. The haunting thought of the possibility that the killer was still there made Farro's story just as tragic.

After a few hours of tossing and turning, The Narrator decided to get up and start the day over with bright spirits, for even a single candle could bring light to a dark room."

The Narrator frowned at the words below her. "I am not quite sure what genre this would even fall under." She mumbled out loud as she folded the parchment over, ignoring the morning light threatening to blind her as it rose higher.  "I'm using the wrong tone if it were to be a thriller, yet nothing has happened to me to make it a tragedy yet...Later revisions will fix it."

Just as she was placing the paper into that drawer, she heard the growing commotion outside. The Narrator quickly pulled her mask on and went out, following the noise and the stale air of death that surrounded it.

Avoiding the spotlight that was Kermadec slumped over in a heap of herself, The Narrator looked over her notes as she listened to the scene surrounding her. She mumbled and jotted down new clues as the clan voted, and decided to stick around and wait for some clue to show up and make this all seem reasonable.
The Narrator also made note of Dawn's disappearance. All the while, she kept a fearful eye on Sorrow, the hunter with a knack for hiding.

His notes were finished. Nyissas stared at the book in his claws, contemplation written across his face. He had long since left Kermadec's den, leaving the dragon as she was but with many questions as to what had happened. Tomorrow, he promised himself, he would move the bodies and begin digging a grave. A moment was spent deciding what sort of flowers would best suit them before he set the notebook down, his musings placed in the margins.

Nyissas votes for Vivaria

Voix shifted his gaze to focus on all the dragons around the room. He didn’t know what to think anymore. Perhaps a herbalist would have had access to different types of poisons? Hm. He wasn’t sure, but he decided to vote for Nyissas.
