Quark growls uncertainly, pawing at the gems in her pack, and Genny grins. "Yep, those little beauties are about the friendliest thing I've ever seen. That being said, all accesses in and out of the cave were blocked, and everyone was banned from approaching the seaside caves while rescue missions were being carried out. It started rumors, however, that the lightning flight was doing more than just rescue missions. But nothing new was ever heard from the Dulce de Aventura Corp. I can only guess that people were trying to do what made them more likely to be rescued and less likely to be lost, if theoretically everyone needed a rescue team. Pack survival tactics I suppose, heh.
Impressive amount of work here without looking at everything written.

Looked a bit more like the entity was trying to trick Giovanni than barter (it was unclear to any sort of voluntary offer was being made, heh). Though monsters feeding off or being drawn by negative emotions is something I've seen elsewhere, I wouldn't be sure of it being the case with the Shade myself. Though if you argued it was because Giovanni was weakened that would be a different matter, heh. Of course, given all the creatures running around Sornieth, as far as I'm concerned there could very well be some entity around that takes advantage of negative emotions/energies. :)
Then again, if lots of Shade-possessed creatures had been beaten and thrown down the pit over time, or lots of creatures had been trapped down there over time to make for easy prey, something like that could work.

I kinda... I knew what I had in mind on what to write but I was half asleep with a headache so I just said absolute nonsense half the time LOL

I called it a barter at first since it would take away his pain and fill his last conscious memories with those he cared about until... You know. Of course his life force was being forced out, but he wasn't fighting it until the bag jingled about his feet.

But I like how it turned out and gio gets a badge! :D
