I don't really do the heavy shadow theme in my lair, so figured I'd showcase some shadow primals to match theme instead ; w;

Lucerna! He's probably as close to shadow-themed as you'll find in my lair; he's one of the clan's old court, meaning he used to be one of the heads of an outpost before the old clan head's demise. With the dissolution of some of his outposts due to the inherent corruption / betrayal that took foot there, most of the outpost denizens were banished, save for a few that proved their loyalty to the new clan head. Lucerna, thankfully, was one that was allowed to stay -- his power was too convenient to lose, but the echo chamber his followers provided to said powers was just too dangerous to allow to flourish. Lucerna understands the logic and action, he's not blind to how dangerous his devoted flock had grown ( and is quietly thankful for being freed of that looming problem, ) he instead spends his time guiding the clan and giving advice where more primordial matters are involved.

Lipitor !! Unironically named after an [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruz22JIt9JA]earworm gamegrumps song[/url] that I am constantly singing to myself, idk why but it just sticks in my brain.
ICly, he's a massive moth beast that goes by any pronoun ( most of his life he was referred to as 'it', pronouns / gender are a new concept to him. ) He lives within the deepwoods, a lush forest dense with corruption, and spends most of his time simply feeding from the livingwood ( ancient trees packed with flesh and some putrid awareness, the woods themselves itch and burn to spread and corrupt ) or haunting the outer edges of the deepwoods to survey its spread and progress. He's... relatively harmless, but his lack of comprehension towards moral beings means there are often unfortunate accidents around him.

and cicada ! the most recent shadow primal project and one of the five hydras that are scattered through the allied clan outposts. They were once part of one main hydra, but were physically split from each other and placed in different alied outposts by the new clan head. As the hydras still have means to communicate between each other telepathically, this allows for the constant exchange of information and monitoring of almost everything. As long as the hydras are in their place, the clan head is able to keep his eyes on [i]everything[/i].
The hydra split resulted in each body retaining some aspect of their main form and encompassing it more wholly, resulting in Cicada not having a voice nor any ability to communicate telepathically to non-hydras. He has no actual mouth, but his 'face' still has mock features of what a dragon should look like, as if someone made a shell or mask to put on. He can whirr, buzz, and croon via a series of tymbals near his abdomen, resulting in his name. While denizens of the canyon outpost have tried to teach him the equivalent of ASL, it's proven to be a very slow process and he gets easily frustrated when he doesn't immediately understand or catch on ( oh, to be an ancient being in which days felt like seconds and be dealt with the challenge to learn a wholly new skill that you have no understanding of )

Don't have many shadow themed dragons, but Obscurum is definitely my top contender.
