Some have chosen to group up with other Beacons or clans, while others have chosen to remain alone during their travels. Beacons prefer to search the unknown waters of the world surrounding Sornieth’s main continent instead of the inland Sea of A Thousand Currents. Due to the nature and length of their searches, Beacon subspecies are only found in Fathom and Undertide populations. It is for this reason they are called [color=#731d08]'Beacons of the [i]Wandering[/i] Eye'[/color], as an extension of the Lightweaver’s gaze outside her domain. [color=#731d08][u][b]Only two elemental connections have been documented in Beacons:[/b][/u][/color] [columns][emoji=light rune] [nextcol][nextcol][size=4][b]Light Beacons[/b] are skilled illusionists and manipulators of light in and out of the ocean. They host a special connection to the Lightweaver and are highly respected Truth-Seers – dragons that can peer into another’s soul and see them for what they truly are. They host a mysterious connection to the Deep that has severed the last traces of the Tidelord’s magic. The original Beacons hail from the small clan of Sapphire Shores, a nomadic pod of Fathom and Undertide with elemental ties to Light and Water.

Origins:
When the Tidelord disappeared, the Lightweaver chose acolytes from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye to ensure her light and influence would spread beyond the Sunbeam Ruins. It was here that the Lightweaver named their purpose: to be her Beacons and Wander the World, to go where her Radiance cannot, and to Seek things Lost to Time… and those beyond the sight of the gods.

Three acolytes chose to explore the vast ocean, swayed by a Waterborn Fathom named Khelebmír.

The Mother of Light was pleased a child of Water would welcome her children to his side. Each acolyte was given a mote of her infinite light and reshaped to suit the world beneath the waves.

Tseluméri was the First. Together, she and Khelebmír would search the depths, called by a song they could not ignore.

Anzafélu and Behansíku soon followed, though they preferred the sunny waters of the Sunbeam Ruins – the Sapphire Shores – to call their home.

Lightborn [i]Abyssal[/i] are capable of releasing extremely bright light from their body when threatened, as both a way to blind would-be attackers and to summon podmates. Waterborn [i]Abyssal[/i] are able to withstand the intense heat from hydrothermal vents, letting them investigate areas most others cannot. Luminescent patterns trail across the bodies of these dragons, some with easier to see lights than others. Less blinding light displays are another form of communication between [i]Abyssals[/i], where patterns pulse across their skin. And while [i]Abyssals[/i] may favor the depths, they also love basking in warm shallow waters with family and friends. Oftentimes, these dragons can spend years drifting along the abyssal plain or deep trenches, letting the current guide their path. [i]Glasswings[/i] get their name from the translucent skin on their wings and the iridescent sheen sometimes covering their bodies. Don't let this apparent fragility fool you - their wings are much stronger than they look and capable of inflicting deep cuts. [i]Evenfalls[/i] are the most social of the [i]Beacons[/i] and spend much of their time in shallow waters along the coast, visiting clan-after-clan in their travels. It’s rare to find one of them alone – if you do, something is very wrong. Lightborn [i]Evenfall[/i] are extremely charismatic, to the point where even the most aggressive attackers can become enthralled by their presence. Waterborn [i]Evenfall[/i] are sirens, with a voice so enchanting others can’t help but listen. Each Song is different, but most are intended to soothe. [i]Brightscales[/i] take this as a point of pride, as they believe the Lightweaver paid more attention to their creation. Lightborn [i]Brightscales[/i] _. They also appear to be the most venomous – the more vivid the colors, the deadlier the sting. [i]Brightscales[/i] are keenly aware of this and take great care not to harm their podmates. It’s also more common for these dragons to seek out equally bright Brightscales as potential partners, especially those with a jelly-like covering, as they secrete a strong neurotoxin on the slightest skin-to-skin contact. These [i]Brightscales[/i] often act as guardians at the outermost edges of the pod or reef, content to keep watch.
