Hi all!! This is very much a WIP, but I am starting an aether subspecies inspired by scries by bluemarble, who kindly gave me the go-ahead to go wild with their concept. Lore, specifics, badges etc. are all to come, but here's the basics. This subspecies came to be because of Ornaments' resemblance to moss. (Side note, I'd love to hear what your first thought when you saw it was--personally, I saw leaves.)
Please feel free to ask questions and show me scries of your own!
If you are interested in adopting a lichenbu, or would like to keep up with the subspecies, here are some pinglists:
Without further ado, here are my specs of lichenbugs!!
Tier 1 Lichenbugs
Primary color range: tan-chocolate
Primary genes: tapir, ripple, varnish
Secondary color range: spearmint-fern, honeydew-moss
Secondary genes: fern, lacquer
Tertiary colors: algae (most preferable), swamp, camo, olive
Tertiary genes: ornament
No restrictions on eye types, but dark eyes are preferable.
Dragons who fall outside of the parameters of tier 1 lichenbugs may submit themselves for registration as tier 2. Different primaries or secondaries, as well as near-misses for colors are allowed, so long as they still fit the aesthetic of looking like lichen. Bee and butterfly are especially acceptable as tier 2 secondaries.
Variant: Woody Lichenbugs
Woody Lichenbugs are ideally XXY dragons, though they are not separated into tiers if they are XXY.
Primary and secondary color range: tan-chocolate
Primary and secondary genes: tapir/striation, ripple/peregrine, varnish/lacquer.
(Your woody lichenbug may mix and match between these gene pairings.)
Tertiary colors: algae (most preferable), swamp, camo, olive
Tertiary genes: ornament
Variant: Crunchybugs
A Crunchybug is an aether that evokes a tree in autumn, or a pile of leaves! Creative deviations from the listed gene specifics do not disqualify your dragon from becoming a registered crunchybug, and their genes may even be added to the subspecies standards if they evoke this aesthetic!
All of the standards of any other variants may be applied to Crunchybugs, but they have at least one of the following differences:
Variant: Kelpiebug Specs TBD...but I think you get the gist!

An example of my tier 1 lichenbug, the first of his kind--Greenshield!!

Feshuk, who is nearly fully gened.
Hypnum!! :D

All of the standards of any other variants may be applied to Crunchybugs, but they have at least one of the following differences:
- jungle breakup as secondary
- at least one gene in an orange color range. Preferable that their tertiary be in the orange range.
Stag, who turned out prettier than expected.
Eerie, the crunchybug!
Variant: Kelpiebug Specs TBD...but I think you get the gist!
