And as such, these younglings often find themselves in trouble. More often than not, they manage to get away with only a slight scolding from the adults before being sent on their merry way. After all, younglings will be younglings. However. There are times when they bite off more than they can chew. We who live in the Scarred Wasteland under the watchful eyes of our almighty Mother are warned by our elders since young never to set foot near Wyrmwound, the cauldron of disease. But there are those who dare to tempt fate. Those daring enough will venture to the crater’s edge and if they’re lucky enough, will return home unharmed. But as life has it, there will always be those who are not so lucky. Ones who will take one wrong step and slip, falling into the crater and into the goo. Most will never come back to the surface, the cauldron becoming their final resting place. And those unlucky enough to survive, are forever transformed into something sinister. [b]They are called the Goo Born[/b].[/center] {divider} Inspiration: Plague Primal is very unique and interesting but unfortunately doesn’t easily match dragons as other flight primals can. Therefore, I wanted to create a Plague subspecies that not only matches Plague Primal, but also matches current FR lore regarding the Wyrmwound (taken from the World Map). The colors Eldritch/Vermillion are the perfect colors for sludge and slime as their accent colors reflect the colors from the old Plague banner and match Plague Primal. Radioactive not only matches Plague Primal but is also a stark contrast against Eldritch and the bright color catches your eye and makes you think “something is wrong here”. And let’s be real. ‘Radioactive’ itself matches the idea of disease. Their entire bodies have been altered by the diseases within Wyrmwound. Their skin produces forever oozing goo. Their bones glow from within as a reminder of the diseases residing in their bodies. The farther they fall into the crater, the worse their eyes become. Goo Borns with blistered eyes were those who sunk deep beneath the surface and had the smallest chance of surviving, and therefore after being reborn, as the strongest out of all the Goo Borns. Surprisingly, even Aberrations can fall victim. Aberrations who sought power too fast and spent too much time in the goo. Those who escape early only suffer from goo hanging off their bodies whereas those who don’t escape in time, their bones will glow from within. Not much is known about the Goo Borns themselves. They reside along the Wyrmwound’s edge and rarely leave if ever. They never seem to eat or age. Others call them ‘Walking Wyrmwound’ and are terrified of getting close in case of catching any diseases the Goo Borns may carry. They mostly keep to themselves, yet there are rumors of them associating with a small clan located in Rotrock Rim, but that has yet to be confirmed. Known as the cauldron of disease, Wyrmwound is full of never-ending calamity churned by the Plaguebringer herself, and any dragon in contact with that goo can be wiped out… or turned into something monstrous. Up there on the edge, one misstep is all it takes. The lucky ones who fall into the disease never make it out. The goo clings to their feathers and pulls them under, never to be seen again. But there are those who defy all odds and survive. They crawl from the goo as it drips from their skin, bones glowing as diseases seep into their bodies, eyes blistered from the heat. These are no longer the dragons from before but instead creatures reborn from the goo.
