ORIGINS

When the Lightweaver came shining and glorious into the world, her Light acted as a beacon to creatures beyond Sornieth. Wanting to bask in her Light, these creatures clawed at the walls dividing their home from Sornieth, and slowly but surely, a rift was opened. It is through this rift that the False Angels now spill forth, mimicking the appearance of the Lightweaver’s children in an attempt to capture but a fraction of her Light.

BEHAVIOURS

Prophets: As the most peaceful of the False Angels, Prophets only seek to integrate into dragon society. A Prophet will often haunt around the edges of a clan to learn the ins and outs of dragon behaviour before attempting to join, and will often become attached to one or two dragons within the clan, basing much of their mimicry around the individual. It is seen as a rite of passage for new Prophets to successfully join a clan, and a great achievement if they are not cast out from the clan when their true nature is revealed. Prophets exclusively worship the Lightweaver and will typically seek out a clan that shares their same values. Though they can coexist with dragons that worship the other deities, Prophets will more often than not socialize with those that worship the Lightweaver only.

Godchildren: Creatures that took the form of the First Children of the gods, these False Angels are much older than their counterparts.
-Those that attempt to mimic aberrations often develop two distinct personalities, which allows the False Angel to retain its mind over time and debate with itself on what courses of action to take. They are also much less prone to becoming Angel-Eaters, though the Aberrations that do often turn on their other head, and do not make it past the first few days. They prefer to seek the Light alone, and hold great distaste for Angel-Eaters and Prophets alike.
-Those that attempt to mimic Banescales are drawn to all things glittering and musical. They have a great love for hymns, and can often be heard singing in a tongue not native to Sornieth, praising the Light and her children. Dragons who hear such songs describe them as "otherworldly" and "terrifying", and are often plagued with fitful sleep for days afterward. These Godchildren prefer to stay in small flocks, and welcome Prophets into their ranks.

Angel-Eaters: Reduced to base instincts, the Angel-Eaters are feared and revered in equal measure amongst the False Angels. Angel-Eaters are named for the way in which they strive for the Light, in that they hunt down and devour dragons aligned with the element of Light. This has led many flocks of Angel-Eaters to haunt the edges of the Lightweaver’s domain, searching for wayward Light dragons while avoiding the Lightweaver’s wrath. Angel-Eaters form flocks of up to 10-15 individuals, lead by the eldest amongst them, typically a turned Godchild. When hunting they rely heavily on ambush tactics, sending a smaller Angel-Eater to lure in prey while the rest of the flock hides and waits. The scout will find an open area and act injured, and once a dragon approaches, the Angel-Eater will then attempt to subdue the dragon, where then the rest of the flock swarms. Dragons who have survived an Angel-Eater attack typically refuse to talk about what they saw, and often remain inside, fearful of all that approaches.
