[size=4]When a Star is formed, there’s always leftover stardust from the nebulous explosion. Over time, born from the leftover stardust and the warmth of their great celestial body, thus become the starchildren. These dragonesque creatures are tiny stars in themselves, so it seems. They shine brilliantly, and give off a warmth comparable to sitting comfortably by a bonfire. However, this heat can light fires under their claws, leading them to have to be extremely careful while on the ground.
Born out of stars, it’s fairly unusual for any more than two or three, possibly five at the most, to be formed from any one star. These groups of “siblings” are referred to as tribes. Though it’s quite usual for the tribe to split up physically, they are of the same star and are psychically linked. This causes them to be extremely loyal to each other. This doesn’t, however, mean that they are loyal to dragons from other tribes. But they aren’t necessarily hostile. Their mates, after all, are formed from other stars.
Mating, though, isn’t a physical process as it would be for dragons. It is far more just for emotional fulfillment. They act as stars in a biorbital union, there to support each other until the bitter end.
Physically unable to keep hold of their forms in the expanse of space, they flee to the nearest planet. They jump around, curious beasts, from planet to planet. It’s unlikely for one to stay in one place for any extended period of time, unless they fall in love with the place, with the creatures, truly enjoying the company of those creatures they find so reasonably alien. For their entire reason for going from one place to another is merely curiosity of other societies, as they don’t have one of their own. Thus, all species are tolerated at least.
Naturally, they have lots of magic. However, it takes so much of the magic to hold their pure dust form together, that they don’t have residual within them to use externally. Any residual magic that they have is indeed channeled through the star stuff and let out in a gentle light and heat.
Though usually formed from fire, light, or arcane magics, Starchildren can be formed from a wide range of different elements corresponding to how they were formed.
