Meet the Primal Hunters!

"Mirrors emerged to hunt, to adapt and to overcome..."

The mirror breed originated from the the Abiding Boneyard region, and travelling primarily by land, they scattered across the globe. I want to talk about those who decided to settle at the Wyrmwound and the Rotrock Rim surrounding it, calling it their hunting territory.

Rotrock Rim provided shelter to many creatures that interested quite a few mirror packs, making it their competitive hunting territory. They thrived on the prey, but to accommodate the growing pack's populations, some decided to hunt in the Wyrmwound itself. No other breed was this selfless.

Not a single soul attempted to hunt in the Wyrmwound before, staying clear from the swirling radiation and slimy creatures that sometimes peek from its edges. They didn't have natural predators to fear of, making them an easy target, if jumping into Wyrmwound could be called "easy". Their endemic nature wouldn't allow dragon kind to study them, but some were able to be approximately replicated with the help of Baldwin.

The hunger would not wait any longer, and the unknown would not stop them. Fearlessly, a few Mirrors jumped into the bubbling cauldron of disease, fully aware it might turn them into something monstrous.

But only those of plague origins had resistance to the disease. The way each plague nest incubates the eggs in radioactive substance was crucial in this selective process, not giving any mercy to other elements.

Those who survived changed. Adapted. Their skin took on the radioactive color of the Wyrmwound, destroying any visual ties to their ancestors, turning it to the clear color of radiation itself. Bright red veins covered their entire bodies, eventually turning their eyes to their primal state as well.

They became known as Primal Hunters. Those who embraced the rotting disease and became one with it.

Common, Uncommon, Unusual Eyes: Lowest rank. These dragons are the ones looking over youth and doing chores.

Rare, Bright and Pastel Eyes: Middle ground. The main hunting party of the pack. They stalk and finish prey.

Faceted and Goat Eyes: Considered anomaly, as they interfere with their vision. These eye types don't make them see worse, but different which causes communication difficulties during the hunt. Instead of hunting, they become watchers to spot big colonies of creatures.

Multi-Gaze Eyes: The best of the best in hunting. They lead the hunting party to victory, seeing everything and beyond.

Primal Eyes: Usually, a member with primal eyes takes on the leadership role based on the experience. In packs without a primal leader, those who "turn primal" replace them. In case the leader is already "turned", they seek to form their own pack.

The Primal Hunter Mirrors have strictly Radioactive-Radioactive-Vermillion coloring, with tertiary gene always being Crackle. The ideal Primal Hunter would be considered a fully transitioned individual who's skin doesn't shed anymore.
Primal Hunter
#1842508
Breeds: Mirrors only

Primary color: Radioactive
Primary gene: Basic

Secondary color: Radioactive
Secondary gene: Basic

Tertiary color: Tomato, Vermillion, Ruby, Cherry, Crimson, Berry, Red, Strawberry, Cerise, Carmine

Before their skin completely sheds they are called the Sludge Hunters, and are not allowed to enter a Primal Hunter pack due to their inability to stay in the disease for long. They remain on their own, hunting at the edges. The only exception to this would be a full pack transitioning at the same time.
Sludge Hunter

Other variants!

The complicated and unpredictable process of this subspecies' skin shedding and\or reproduction gives room for mutation possibilities. Thus, any fitting gene combo works, as long as it's radioactive - radioactive - red ranged coloring and the red tert is not basic, showing the bloody nature of horrendous mutations.

@Kodar
Cool! I’d love to buy one of those kids wants somewhere space frees up! I think that maybe you should introduce some more leeway into the tertiary color that way it’s easier to bred more of them, Since I’ve seen that sub species with very small ranges tend to die out quickly. Whatever it is your sub and you can do whatever you want with it and I love the lore and idea!
