TOPIC | Theme Week: Dustcarve Dig!

[b]Reggie [/b]would be thrilled to join the dig! The clan employs her for construction and lair expansion, and she absolutely loves her job because it means she gets to create and modify tunnels all the time. Though she is a bit clumsy around all the high-voltage machinery, digging is her favorite activity and she considers herself the regional authority on the matter.
Axel is helping bring supplies, and obviously has to carry as many wood planks as they're physically capable of (which ends up being more than anyone expected)

Naoki would love to help with the dig! She is a geologist by trade and a rock lover by heart. Though she loves studying the rock formations in the Shadow Flight, Naoki is always looking to learn more. She is great at communicating with coworkers and has a steady paw; invaluable traits when working on something as delicate as a dig.

Ah! The dragon that would normally lead such an expedition is currently Hibernating! He's going to be so mad that he missed this! xD
Umm... Jadira would probably be the next best to lead our group! She's a Geologist and Cartographer, and has the best sense of direction underground. She's also tireless and is pushy enough to keep everyone on track.

Malfae would definitely go! He's our resident Delver/Tunneler. He's very brave, can move a tonne of rock in short time, and has poor eye-sight anyway so dark caves don't bother him in the slightest.

And to round out our team, Malachite, who probably got drug along very much against his will. The rest of the clan seems to think of him as some sort of Good Luck Charm for travel, building projects, and the like, because nothing seems to go wrong when he's around. (In reality, he's just safety conscious in the extreme.) He is not terribly pleased with this venture but, as long as they don't expect him to get dirty or do any heaving lifting, he won't fight them too hard.

The digging seems to have woken her up from her nap (and knocked down several acres of forest in the process) and she's FAR too big to fit in the tunnels, but thankfully she's not too grumpy and she's willing to help cart away some of the excess dirt and rocks brought up from underground

As the clan's blacksmith, Conflagration is a mighty dragon accustomed to bellowing over and hearing through great big noises, which mining surely would cause. Brute strength and stamina for days means he can easily swing the hammer at his hip to bust up huge rocks and make them easier to transport out of the tunnel. It might get a little hotter around him than in the rest of the tunnel, but that's what taking buckets of broken stone to the surface is for - cool air breaks!

Inferno is donating his services as a fiery beast and chandler. He has brought with him oodles and oodles of candles - and lanterns created by Riptide and Phantasos, the clan glassblowers - so that everyone helping can safely find their way through the mines. He remains busy at the surface, tucked up in a cart with a portable version of his workshop, where he can produce even more as the days roll on.

It's important to have a record of historic events like this one, and Corroda has never met a special occasion she didn't wish to write down. She's dutifully copying down both personal accounts and general progress statements in her book, and intends to preserve them in the clan's sprawling library on her return home. Privately, she's hoping there won't be too many unfortunate incidents - there are times when boredom is [i]always[/i] better than action, and sending dragons deep below ground on a dangerous mission is one of them...
