After extensive experimentations, a small group found the answer they were looking for. Through their ritualistic genome reprogramming and modification, young dragons began acquiring the same properties most poison frogs have within their skin while keeping the accompanied patterning. The similar patterning shown in dragons was decided to be a show of honor. Extra resources would not be used to try and erase the bright warning patterns seen in the frogs that had found their way to dragon pelts. Further studies after the initial participants in the experimentation had seen successful strains in offspring, though occasional far weaker replications of the desired outcome were also found among some lineages and generations. These weaker strains have been easily pinpointed by their coloring and patterning, and as such are often ostracized out of the community and referred to as mimics. While these mimics are not the desired outcome, their appearance provides insight into continued genome modifications happening naturally beyond the pure form dragon kind had obtained.
