Young archeologists and explorers are not known for being careful, they are prone to mistakes, folly, and failure. such error can be quite deadly in the wake of old magic, magic even older than the eleven on occasion. such magic can even defy nature, and rouse the dead.
Mummies are among the most common awoken undead, usually by defiling their resting place in some way. The most common way a mummy is awoken is usually by stealing or ruining a prized artifact. Although there have been other instances of different variables contributing to waking a mummy.
A mummy's body, despite contrary belief, is actually alive, and functioning! The heart beat and blood flow is just slowed down to a fascinating degree. What mummies we have been able to study still eat, and drink, but not as often as a normal living being. The longer a mummy has been awake, the more 'Functional' its body becomes, healing embalming wounds with scars, and regenerating missing limbs and organs needed for prolonged function. The body doesn't wholly regenerate however, as any injuries acquired before death will remain as they had (amputated limbs for example). It is unknown if this is due to a mental block the mummy exhibits over its body, or if the regeneration is limited in this way. Regeneration also only does the bare minimum, as any body parts or functions not needed are either neglected or simply disappear from the body.
Mummies are usually feral beasts when the first awake, slowly gaining consciousness and will the longer they stay animated. Though this is not always the case, as some only gain partial consciousness, or simply none at all.
A 'Waker' is a person or creature that has caused a mummy to wake, and bears the brunt of its curse.
Wakers are either very dangerous individuals, or are individuals in a whole lot of danger. There have been rare cases of a Waker finding a way to pacify the awoken mummy and live peacefully or cause absolute havoc with the mummy and curse by their side.
But more times than not, a Waker is brutally killed by the rampaging undead, or the curse wrought upon them. A mummies curse is most typically a type of indefinite bad luck or suffering, although there have been documented cases of different curse outcomes, death is the most common.

EYE LORE
Common - Rare, Bright, Pastel:
The standard for all dragons, these eyes are, despite their appearance, very impaired due to age. Most mummies with normal eyes mostly rely upon touch, and sound to navigate their environment. These dragons were either not given a proper burial, died in dishonor, or were simply not of great importance. And are not rewarded with eyesight, in their life after death.
Dark Sclera:
Mummies with dark sclera have have actually lost their eyes due to a myriad of reasons, either before death, or during the embalming process. It has been observed That only well worshipped dragons, or dragons of great influence during life, are most likely to have enough magic to produce dark sclera. Although age is also suspected to have an influence.
Faceted:
Perhaps not important in life as their dark sclera kin, it is hypothesized that mummies with faceted eyes were valued members of society, philosophers, artists, etc. It is most likely that the eyes represent seeing the many facets of life, and the beings that reside in it.
Primal:
Primal mummies are a magical oddity, as it appears that they are very talented in elemental magic, where other mummies would fail, but are lacking in the neutral magic other undead inherit, including proper regeneration. Because of this primal mummies are rare, but the documented instances are quick to return to the flight their primal eyes originate from. Some hypothesize they are eager to rest, and return their magic to where it originally came from. Another theory is that primal mummies had wished to be buried in their home flight, and those wishes were not fulfilled.
Multi-Gaze:
Mummies with multigaze are suspected to also be seers, but most likely specialized in predictions and practices akin to seers of the Tide Lord. Although less multigaze mummies have been documented in years, it is suspected that with the disappearance of the Tide Lord, their methods have fallen into obscurity, and with it their tombs, and magic.
Swirl:
Swirl eyed mummies are tricksters, and are more akin to jesters, or the sphinx in their methods. They are the most well documented in life, aside from Pharaohs and the like, due to being public entertainers. It has proved difficult to document them after they awake however.
Goat:
Mummies with goat eyes were either very close to an animal in life, or was buried with their familiar in death. They may have also had animal oriented lives, although it is not yet confirmed, more research will have to be done.
Glowing:
Mummies with glowing eyes, are actually well noted historical figures, or generally good people, perhaps their eyes are a gift, for being a light in the darkness.
Innocent:
Innocent eyed mummies are probably the least studied out of all the eye types. The leading theory is they were children in death, and their bodies were twisted to be more adult like by mummy regeneration to better defend their resting place. When properly soothed most return to their smaller babyish form.

[emoji=arcane rune size=1] Arcane:
These dragons have the most talent in magic, and are the most likely to have the widest range of magic mutations and oddities. Arcane mummies are notoriously hard to locate due to the nature of the arcane territory, and the nature of their tombs.
[emoji=nature rune size=1] Nature:
Nature mummies are know for their beautifully overgrown temples, and tombs. They have a affinity to plants, and are very elusive, dangerously so.
[emoji=earth rune size=1] Earth:
Earth mummies have well documented temples, often detailing every dragon that had contributed to it's construction. Earth mummies themselves are very hardy and difficult to kill, possessing very thick skin, this could prove Inconvenient, if the need to kill one were to arise.
[emoji=fire rune size=1] Fire:
Fire mummies have temples of ash, beautifully made metal trinkets, and gifts. They burn bright and hot, if their resting place is desecrated, and are very prone to self combustion. Ash is present wherever they reside.
[emoji=ice rune size=1] Ice:
Ice mummies have gorgeous sculptures, and tombs of ice. Their body runs cold, like cool sand. The temperature is likely to drop in their vicinity.
[emoji=wind rune size=1] Wind:
Wind mummies have beautifully carved murals, and messages in the halls of their tombs. They are tethered only to their resting place, and then only barely. If a Waker tried to control one with material objects, it would prove..... Inefficient.
[emoji=light rune size=1] Light:
Light mummies have well kept tombs of sun bleached marble, and lights. They are probably the most well kept, and mentally manipulative. Keep your wits about you in their presence.
[emoji=lightning rune size=1] Lightning:
Lighting mummies have tombs and towers of metal, lighting, and power. They are mentally flimsy, at best, and complete power hungry monsters at worst. They strike quick and strong like lightning.
[emoji=plague rune size=1] Plague:
Plague mummies have no elaborate tombs or temples, for they have failed to survive, but they were well respected in life, and in death. They may be without strong mummy magic, but with claws and teeth at their disposal, they prove to be formidable opponents.
[emoji=shadow rune size=1] Shadow:
Shadow mummies reside in tombs of gnarled branches and thorns, worshiped by the silence of their forgotten stories, and tricks. They are very resourceful, you won't know you're in their vicinity until it's too late.
[emoji=water rune size=1] Water:
Water mummy's temples are adorned with old prophecies and promises, long forgotten and untranslatable. They are gifted aquatic ambushers, when near a waterside tomb be alert.
