They were not her first experiments, but they were one of her first successes. The countless diseases brewing from within the still fledgling Wyrmwound altering the Gaolers' very sense of self; corrupting their minds and altering their physiological being as the diseases formed solidified pustules across their flesh; taking the form of massive spikes across the majority of their bodies.
The intensity of their numerous infections left the Teratoma Beasts completely maddened, turning them as feral and savage as they appeared. Anyone who was deemed a viable host and wasn't an ally to Plague would be at risk of being attacked on sight, and whether they ended up pinned under its talons or trapped within its jaws, the end result was almost always one of two outcomes: infection, or death.
However, that just made the Plaguebringer enjoy her creations more, viewing such savagery and desire to infect as just what she needed to spread her will, particularly if her reach ever went far enough south to start expanding into the Southern Icefields the now-infected Gaolers once called home.[/i][/font]
