Inspired by Saiban's and T1R3D’s fandragon projects!

So I’m starting this about, uh… 35 dragons late. But better late than never, because I don’t think I’m anywhere near done.

To make a long story short; exactly one year ago, I had one Ace Attorney fandragon, Edgeworth, sitting amongst my modest collection of fan characters. Then I fell back into the fandom and discovered Ace Attorney Investigations 2, and in the spiral of hyperfixation that followed, I got Phoenix, Franziska, Trucy, and wandered off the site for a few months. When I returned to FR in September, I had four AA fandragons. In four months, that number has increased to 36.

It is possible that I have a problem.

I’ve also gotten into the habit of making g1 fandragons – part because I like the challenge and part because it’s necessary to slow myself down – so this has been something of an adventure in how fast I can shovel money into an endlessly burning furnace.

My goal is to make as many Ace Attorney characters as possible without having to resort to throwing the whole thing in my hibden for lairspace.

These fandragons must be:
-G1
-Unbred
-Be able to work with genes in all three slots (no basic tertiaries)

The things I slack on:
-Eyes. I prefer matching eyes, but I’ll settle for close to the right color (ice/lightning/water for any blue, fire/plague as well as earth for brown), or an element that suits a character in some way (light for a truth seeker, shadow for a schemer, etc)
-Ideal scries. You can't find specific dragons when searching G1s and it’s necessary to loosen up the color ranges. Fandragons I buy to fit a character may be awesome fits or may be merely good enough.

The real fun is in the outfits. I’d been holding onto some potential Edgeworth G1s, but couldn’t really justify making copies to eat up my lair space… and then I learned that the crimson aviator coat has a black strip on the bottom with golden buttons, which is the main design element I needed to differentiate his post-timeskip design from his pre-timeskip one. And I’d already learned some layering tricks from Manfred von Karma that were applicable for his dumb brocade jacket, and from there it all just kind of snowballed. Both the Edgeworths are missing too many of their necessary pieces/genes for me to move them out of the hibernal den yet, but Phoenix is only missing stained and looks near-complete. Wish I had a brighter beanie option, though. (Also, while I was looking up Turnabout Reminiscence for quotes for rookie Edgeworth, I found a hilarious thing I’d never picked up on before – on his first day on the job, Edgeworth is proudly showing off his badge to every living thing just like Phoenix does, and everyone either tells him it’s undignified and to knock that off or expresses complete disinterest. He even tries to flaunt his cool new status symbol to [i]Gumshoe[/i] and gets snubbed; he’s all like “I bet you’ve never seen one of [i]these[/i] before!” and Gumshoe just starts talking about how much cooler detectives are. No wonder Edgeworth always keeps the damn thing in his pocket.) Anyway. I don’t have plans for a DD-era Phoenix fandragon at this time because I don’t have the apparel options to differentiate him from my current Phoenix (who matches his post-timeskip design better than his pre-timeskip anyway.) Feenie may be on the cards, though.

I really admire your dedication to this - I don't think I even have 36 fandragons, let alone 36 gen 1 fandragons for one game! I do, however, have five references to one character, so, uh, might have you beat on the doubles thing there, ehheh

This is my one Ace Attorney dragon so far;

Very much a work in progress. I am perpetually broke. *nods*

I need to figure out an outfit for him (I was sure I did already? Maybe I just didn't save it), but I got pretty lucky with the colours, I think. Most of the time I scry something new and then can't find anything even remotely close to what I want on the AH
(Can't remember what my thought process was regarding his genes, but uh, it is what it is i guess)

I'm also a big fan of layering abuse in FR outfits and Bratworth/Chief Prosecutor are just. mm. yes. I love it. The way you chose to represent their differences from "normal" Edgeworth are really great as well. I just wish the red breeches weren't stripy...

I've only finished the first game at the moment, but I hope that I'll be able to appreciate the full scope of this project sooner rather than later :D Currently suffering from pretty severe Warcraft brainrot, so I'll get back to you on that later, maybe

@Hakkar Yesss, give me all of the Edgeworths. Wine, Cerise, and Raspberry are my favorite colors on him (real Edgeworths wear pink) and shale trail gets both the highlights and base color of his hair. Though iridescent does the same and I think his genes also look great as is. Meanwhile, the maize underbelly... c r a v a t. Do you remember what pieces you planned on using? I may have some extra apparel you could have - though unfortunately I'm out of sinister tailcoats at the moment, the go-to Edgeworth piece. (The Mage's Cranberry Overcoat is a really cheap alternative, you can usually find them for about 5kt.)

I stan multiple fandragons of the same character, so I salute you on all the Kakyoins. (I'm only passingly familiar with JoJo, mostly thanks to IKTR, but I do recognize the character... at least, I definitely recognize that clip. Cursed.) Keep up the good work, soldier o7

@Hakkar @Nicolle A few updates today! First off, knocked some genes out of the way. Angel Starr is finished with Stained, both Edgeworths are now Skydancers, and rookie Edgeworth has Pinstripe while his older counterpart has wrapped up his genes with Spines. Also placed in an accent order to get more copies of his cravat. But more importantly, I’ve got another dragon! [i]One[/i]: While this guy has colors I like - orange and tan are the exact primary and secondary I wanted, and marigold’s not a bad tert - I don’t have an acceptable outfit to put Larry in thanks to FR having minimal orange apparel options (and zero orange open-jacket ensembles.) I think my best option right now would be to put him in a white undershirt and let the orange of his primary carry him, and I’m not really satisfied with that. [i]Two[/i]: His eyes. Larry has brown eyes. Light rare does just fine in this regard, so it actually is doable with this dragon, but I only have 11 scattersights left and I could blow all of them to no avail here. On the other hand, I had the same issue with Gregory Edgeworth and he went light rare on his first try. So should I stick with him, and commit to scattering, or wait for a dragon with browner eyes and hope that FR releases some better clothes in the meantime? I also wouldn't mind scry suggestions - I think I'm pretty attached to him being a spiral, but otherwise don't feel that settled on any of his genes.
