Solace, the adopted brother! He's big, and scary, and a big ol' softie who's trying to keep Robin on the path of righteousness.

kip ravenhall, halfling necromancer
kip comes from a long line of clerics to the ravenqueen, but had a, uh, pretty intense crisis of faith after his father died. his goal on paper is to figure out resurrection without the need for expensive components. his goals inward are a bit more 'unwrite death and free ourselves from the rule of the gods'. kip's very soft and is always trying to find a way out of situations that doesn't involve killing anyone, but he can also get really dark when it comes down to destroying things he believes are evil. kip would be a very smart man if he ever stopped to use that brain of his before jumping to conclusions. his dex and int are both 18 and his wisdom is 9 he's the smartest idiot in the party.

baylock craft, tiefling sorcerer/rogue
when a band of rebels break into the blue cliff prison to bust out one (deceased) baylock craft, his cellmate makes a thoughtfully calculated decision: to steal the name, coat, and boots off the rebel leader and collect his get out of jail card. but now (new) baylock is out of his element pretending to be a daring and talkative swashbuckler, miles away from civilization, and the only way the quiet, cautious tiefling is getting back home to get revenge on his former thieves guild is to play along and help the rebel band who rescued him. he's an idiot on the verge of an identity crisis and a nervous breakdown because he's realized that he's never really had to think about who he is and who he wants to be because he's always had someone to tell him that sort of thing, and suddenly he's both freer and more trapped than he's ever been.
and technically pathfinder but he's my other active character:

izak, tiefling gunslinger
izak was born an elf, actually, but turned into a tiefling on his 50th birthday because of some family curse, and then spent the next 15ish years angsting about it and being a terrible person. he wants to leave that behind him now. he wants to forget his time as viper the mercenary, as dally the bitter tramp, and as dalethiel the young elf. he's got a perfectly good name, given to him by a kindly cleric of sarenrae, and is turning new leaves. too bad all the new leaf turning has landed him stuck in a town being personally haunted by, of all things, the ghost of a wizard obsessed with names. on top of that there's the matter of getting possessed once or twice that's got him worried he was right all along - that he's not able to be saved.
(izak is my current carrion crown character and i love him so much and he's probably gonna die next session when we have the big boss fight against the splatterman. i love him so much because he's a subversion of almost everything a badass gunslinger is supposed to be. he's nervous, easily frightened, sticks his tongue out whenever he cleans, fixes, or aims his gun, sings when stressed, and generally is fumbling through life like an understudy who didn't expect the lead to get sick today. )

This is Hollis! He's a Drow Artificer! He's pretty arrogant, but that's what happens when you grow up the prodigious son of the most affluential mage family of the Underdark. However, he wasn't particularly interested in magic and decided to take up engineering, essentially. Not finding much support in terms of knowledge or supplies to start his new area of study, he headed to the surface lands. His hope is to bring the world into an age of technological enlightenment.
Despite his lofty goals and prestigious bloodline, he tends to have a chip on his shoulder, especially because his family wasn't exactly supportive of his life choices. He tries his best to keep face, but ends up coming off as cold, a control freak, and a workaholic. He's especially bad at pacing himself with work, and will often pull multiple all-nighters without pausing for food or breaks. He also rarely has much in the way of [i]stuff[/i] since he only buys the most quality of items, even if that means he can barely afford enough to survive the month.
($20 chair for the house and $80 for food a month? More like $80 for a high quality chair and $20 for food a month.)
He really just needs someone to force him to take a nap, honestly.

This is Thunder Jaw aka TJ, my Dragonborn Barbarian!
TJ was stolen as an egg, and grew up as a sideshow attraction in a not-so-ethical-circus. She was treated more like an animal, given the name "Thunder Jaw" due to her breath weapon, which she was often forced to show off in her performances. She mostly did feats of strength, and if she refused to perform, she was punished horribly. Eventually she and a bunch of other sideshow attractions broke free and ran away to start a new life for themselves. Since they didn't know any other life but the circus life, they just started their own, much nicer, circus. TJ mostly acts as a bouncer, keeping patrons in line. Because of her horrible past, she has some anger issues, loves fighting, and the bigger her challenger is, the more amped to fight she becomes. On the flipside, she is fiercely loyal to her circus family, and when separated from them, becomes extremely anxious.

He adamantly hides his Dhampir features, and has a practiced excuse for any weakness he has, as well as being able to speak in a way where he doesn't open his mouth wide enough for people to notice his fangs. He's a career wanderer, living in poverty and never sticking to one place for every long. He survives by doing odd jobs, from manual labor or bodyguard duty. He is aloof, extremely polite, and kind to everyone around him. While he is eager to help those around them, and has no issue joining parties, it's really hard to get to know him deeper than casual acquaintances. Regardless, he won't hesitate to give his all to protect others. But oddly, he shoves himself into danger quite often, even when it might not be necessary...
He's also got an entire playlist, link in his bio. Its mostly melancholy piano, haha.
