She used to be a mineralogist, spending her time studying reference books about minerals and identifying unknown samples. But, she ended up getting too stressed out and obsessive about her work, so she decided to switch careers to sculpting, hoping that it would be less stressful. What she didn’t realise is that sculpting is very competitive in Sornieth. Sculptors are in high demand to decorate the homes of the wealthy, public buildings and shrines and temples to the gods. None of them want the important jobs to go to their rivals, so they all strive to outdo, manipulate and sabotage any competitors, especially newbies like Marble. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/36009709][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/360098/36009709_350.png[/img][/url] Agate is one of Marble’s rivals in the sculpting business. She is regarded with fear and awe by other sculptors because of her dark, twisted designs and intensely bitter personality. She has no qualms about sabotaging her rivals and crushing the hope of beginners, and has successfully driven a lot of both new and veteran sculptors out of the business with her manipulative antics. Deep down, she hates her job and her life and is trying to make everyone else as miserable as she is. However, she seems to have met her match in Marble, who is relentlessly enthusiastic and entirely immune to her cynicism, to the point of still considering her a friend despite Agate’s constant attempts to put her down. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/38554602][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/385547/38554602_350.png[/img][/url] Alabaster is Marble’s other rival. He is a very traditional sculptor who believes that sculptures should be elegant, well-constructed, awe-inspiring and of classical subjects only. Anything that doesn’t meet his exacting standards, which is everything except his own work, gets sneered at and criticised so harshly that it destroys the confidence of the victim completely. Alabaster has managed to drive out as many sculptors as Agate has and is equally as feared as she is, but that doesn’t make them allies. They hate each other more than they hate their rivals and have been trying for years to destroy each other with very little success. Alabaster is especially harsh to newbies, but Marble seems to aggravate him more than most for some reason. It isn’t just her cheerfulness, it seems more personal than that…
