Aesc comes from a long line for fire mages - each as powerful as the last - but she sought to separate herself from the blaze and set off on her own and joined the Crystal Fern Colony. Her parents were a bit detached, more concerned with keeping magic in the family line, but she wanted adventure and experiences. She has taken to placing harmless flames around the giant sycamore the tree, giving light to the whole colony late into the night.

The Crystal Fern Colony has two master blacksmiths - Pyrite and Hepatizon - siblings who work in perfect harmony to create and forge everything from incredible tools to intricate filigree and decor. Their small size allows them to easily access and repair the more troublesome pieces of clockwork around the colony. Pyrite specializes in welding and has a masterful command of fire magics allowing her to manipulate extremely hot fire and magma. While Hepatizon's expertise lies in the forging and smelting of metal. His has the ability to create the perfect alloy for any job and and hammer them into his desired shape. Though these two siblings are the master blacksmiths they have stared to pass the skill with metals and fire on to an apprentice: Hepatizon's daughter Cardamon. Her interest in the art of blacksmithing stared as soon as she was out of her egg. She grew up around her father and aunt's forge and often played with the dying embers and coals that fell to the floor. But now that she is old enough to, she has stared helping out by caring for the fires and maintaining their temperature.

Now, he may have Earth eyes, but I like to think he's equal parts Earth and Fire. Isn't that what a volcano is, anyway~?
