I'll never forget the time we caught a ride from a fisherman and I overheard him saying 'young doggies taste nice with lemon'. I was incredibly distressed, thinking he meant real dogs. I found out later he meant dogfish.
Anyway, I think of dogfish being some abyssal creature, snaring fish in the darkness.
