[center][size=6]The Clone Project[/size] [size=5]Alternate title: [i]OhgodohgodoHGOD WHY ARE THERE 50 COPIES OF YOU[/i][/size] [color=red]NOTE: I decided to re-locate this thread from quests/challenges to a more fitting forum spot.[/color] This thread will focuse on trials on tribulations of my breeding project that focuses on creating a Wildclaw of my dreams. [morphology=650183] He is based off of my Transformers Fan OC, called Meme. So back to the project! I have already entered the phase two of creating that rascal. My eventual dream is to create Meme, then find a suitable partner for him and more or less create hundreds of nearly identical copies of him. The challanges I have so far faced is the incredibely rare color combo I want. Blacks/blues/reds, to my surprise, are not too popular from what I've seen. It's been a slow and steady progress. We face a first setback as none of them have Ruby Contour. Fortunately, the Female now named Poki, has a Cherry Contour. Ruby and Cherry are virtually neighbors on the color grid. Thus Poki becomes the foundation breeder of the generation 2. I snatched him immediately. Besides the added challenge that he is an Obsidian Cherub, I don't think it will be a problem. Falcon and Cherub are roughly equal genes in their rarity and inheritence. Black & Obsidian AND Ruby & Cherry are neighbors on the color grid so we have pretty high chances of potentially achieving the true Meme pretty early on in Generation 3. Because both are Ridgebacks, I'll need to save up on Wildclaw Scrolls for the Gen3 result. If you have any suggestions and comments, I'm more than happy to hear them out. [center][size=5]Generation 3[/size] In just the G3 project, we've already reached the result I was working on for months now. On 15th of June 2020, a beautiful Falcon Black/Current Ultramarine/Ruby Contour was hatched. But here's a setback... Because the dragon is based off of my character, the perfect dragon for him would be a boy... But the dragon ended up a girl. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/62028747][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/620288/62028747_350.png[/img][/url] Instead, the sibling ended up as a male, though he has colors I do not want. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/62028748][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/620288/62028748_350.png[/img][/url] Fear not though! Ridgebacks have a short cooldown time and Error and Poki will be soon ready for their next attempt. This forum comment will focus on trials and tribulations of the G3 of this project. We know it is possible, so I'll keep trying.

[center][size=5]Unrelated Bloodline[/size] While browsing the AH a few days back, I was lucky to find two unrelated dragons and completely unrelated dragons to my project. Meet Screecher and Screamer. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/61975027][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/avatars/619751/61975027.png[/img][/url][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/61468239][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/avatars/614683/61468239.png[/img][/url] The two will help create a Falcon/Contour combo, with Secondary gene leaving unaltered - either it will be Constellation or Facet. Color combinations also give us a pretty good chance of achieving the desired combo. Only time and some luck will tell in future.

[center][size=5]Generation 3 Attempt Number 2[/size] Today, on 5th of July 2020, another batch belonging to Error and Poki hatched. Two eggs like last time (they really like the number two) and the results are... But we have a Cherry Contour. No ruby this time. We breed again in 2 weeks.[/center]

[center][size=5]Generation 3 Attempt Number 3[/size] SO GUYS, WE DID IT Today, 25th of July, marks the day of success. After almost 4 months of trial and error, a 3-egg nest surprised me with not one, but [i]two[/i] dragons of the desired result. To my surprise, [i]all[/i] winded up as boys. Meet Meme!
