Different variants have different flight and gene requirements.
• All variants require Goat eyes.
• Each individual variant will have their flight requirements in the title (Dormant and Permababy have no flight requirements)
• All variants with the “Awakened” tag (basically, anything besides Dormant and Permababy) require Ghost tertiary
Dormant | No Ghost Tertiary
Most Spirit Seers are dormant- they see faces and figures at the corner of their eyes that no one else seems to see, but don’t recognize their ability for what it is. These Seers learn to ignore these phantasms and wave them off as hallucinations or figments of their imaginations.
These Seers can become Awakened when they gain a Ghost tertiary. Then, they gain the ability to see spirits more clearly and sometimes even interact with them.
Awakened | Ghost Sight | Shadow & Plague & Earth
Awakened Shadow and Plague dragons are haunted by ghosts that tell omens of misfortune to come. This ghost sight is usually weak at first but gets stronger the more the dragon interacts with ghosts. These Seers often become close friends with lonely undead who realize someone can finally see them, although the downside is that seemingly talking in the air may distance dragons from their own clan.
Earth Seers work a bit differently- their flight’s relationship with monuments and memories of the past allow them to see scenes of the past near significant locations or objects. At first, Earth Seers can only see flickers of the past when wandering ancient ruins or handling artifacts. As the Seer gains more knowledge about that piece of history, the vision can expand to cover their entire sight as they are completely immersed in the world of the past and can observe the last echoes of long-dead dragons who were going about their lives at that spot. Like Shadow and Plague dragons, this is a valuable power but can look crazy to bystanders who see the Seer seemingly wandering around in a daze.
Awakened | Dimension Sight | Arcane & Light
Arcane and Light awakened Spirit Seers can see dimensional tears at the edge of their vision which reveal the future.
For novices, these visions come randomly and are fragile, disappearing if the dragon turns their head to look closer. Seers from Arcane and Light learn how to meditate for hours to induce these visions and make them clear enough to interpret. Experienced seers can be extremely powerful, seeing not only the future but possible branching futures based on key decisions.
Awakened | Future Sight | Ice & Water
When Ice and Water Spirit Seers look in the mirror, sometimes what they see isn’t exactly their reflection. Whatever is on the other side of the reflection wearing their form will speak to the Seer, giving them a warning about the future, before shifting back to the dragon’s natural reflection. This phenomenon can happen on any reflective surface, from mirrors to basins of water. Apparently, some experienced Seers have been able to harness reflections to scry the future or communicate with other dragons, but who knows how trustworthy these reflections are?
Water Seers are the oldest kinds of seers, and some say they are what caused the Water Flight to gain the reputation of being oracles.
Awakened | Nature Spirit Sight | Nature & Wind
Seers from Nature and Wind can see an entire, thriving ecosystem of usually-invisible nature spirits going about their daily lives. They see fairies flying about playing tricks on each other, plant spirits scurrying around their feet, and slumbering mountain gods. However, if any of these spirits know they are being watched, they will scatter immediately. Therefore, Nature and Wind Seers learn to pretend to ignore these spirits and only interact with them in subtle ways, like “accidentally” leaving out food or leaving a small crack in the window open for them to come in. In return, happy spirits will bless their household by watering their plants, getting rid of pests, or sneaking a few extra berries in the dragon’s basket while they’re gathering.
Awakened | Nature Spirit Sight | Lightning & Fire
Lightning and Fire Seers also see nature spirits, but specifically spirits of storms and natural disasters. Disaster spirits are aggressive and dangerous, and these Seers take a more active role than others by battling these spirits to defend their clan. Whether they intend to or not, these Seers are the most dramatic and visible of the subspecies as they seemingly fly straight into oncoming storms to take them down.
“Imaginary Friends” | Permababy
Dragons with goat eyes and eternal youth are regarded as the most powerful Seers. Even without a ghost tertiary, they can see and interact with any kind of spirit or phenomenon that other variants can see. They can even gain the trust of and speak to elusive nature spirits. However, the downside is that few non-Seers take them seriously and believe the permababy Seer just has an active imagination.
