She stumbled over a tree stump in accident, and crashed snout-first onto the cold, damp ground. The wind howled above her. It was the first time she was afraid of wind... She was only playing in the bamboo patch besides the forest. How did she even get lost? Suddenly, Spring heard a rustle of bushes behind her. Startled, she jumped up, squealing loudly and glancing nervously around, her eyes darting between the branches. But there was no one there. Sighing in relieve, she thought, [i]I must've just imagined it.[/i] She collapsed down, tired and wary of the dark jungle around her. A bird called nearby, and she nearly toppled over in fright. Just as she was beginning to fall asleep, a rough voice made her fall backwards, crying out in alarm. "Who are you?" The voice rasped. Spring opened and closed her mouth again, unable to answer. "Who?" The voice continued. "I-I-I am S-Spring." She managed to stutter, stumbling backwards without even noticing. "Stop." The voice said simply. Then, there was a few more rustles, and the bushes parted, revealing a old dark green Gaoler inside. He was looking at her quite calmly. "Why are you here?" He suddenly seemed to turn agressive. "Are you intruding upon [i]our[/i] territory?" He snarled. "I wa-was j-ju-just playing among the, the bamboo patches a-and got lost!" Spring blurted out in a high pitched voice, backing away again. The Gaoler moved closer. "I-No! Please!" She shouted as he pressed his snout against hers. "P-Please let me go!" "No." The gaoler snapped. "B-But, but my family is wa-aitin-ing for me to come back!" She cried out as he moved even closer to her. "We'll see if [i]they[/i] let you go." He answered roughly, dragging her along. Spring didn't even protest as her body bumped roughly against the ground, making small bruises and bumps appear on her smooth body. Her leg was cut on a tree branch, making her wince a bit. Suddenly, they came to a abrupt halt in a clearing in the middle of the forest. The Gaoler dropped Spring to the ground with a small [i]thud[/i]. She looked up, tired and scarred lightly, to see a old Pearlcatcher gazing down at her. "Well? Who is this, Leaf?" "I found her by the edge of the forest." Leaf, the gaoler said, shrugging. "She claimed to be playing by the bamboo patch in their territory, and stumbled in by accident." He let out a small growl. "Thought I'd bring her here anyway." He dipped his head to the Pearlcatcher and sat down. "So. Why are you here, Wind Dragon?" She asked, gazing down sternly at her. "None of your clan, or and Wind Dragons has come to this forest village before." She settled herself on top of a wooden chair, waiting for Spring's answer. [i]At least she's not completely unfriendly.[/i] Spring cleared her throat nervously, then said "I-yes, I just got lost. I was chasing a leaf and it led me into the forest..." her voice trailed away as she realized how childish it was for her, a almost fully grown dragon to chase a leaf.
