@Fletcher Here’s your review! It was so hard to choose which dragons to talk about, all of them are so pretty~ ----- First up is Attelise! I love love love honeydew petals, and it’s gorgeous on her - the blend of the pink into her wings is stunning, especially with the deep sunset colors of orange shimmer. Her rare Arcane eyes are another lovely point, adding to the overall softness of her look. All of her golden apparel is gorgeous on top of those pinks and greens, and the diaphanous sylvan set especially does a great job of pulling together the golds and the greens. She’s just lovely to look at, and her art is so cute too! Up next is Silivan with more gorgeous greens, though his are in a completely different direction - dark, almost murky, like the deep woods. The first thing I noticed about him was his peacock - I adore the bright pops of pink on his wings, and also how it drew my eye to his pink ears! It adds something cute and unexpected to colors that could otherwise be darker and gloomier. His outfit is spot-on as well - everything fits together beautifully even with apparel from a lot of different sets, and touches like the nature tome and sage shawl add to the impression of a scholar. There’s no way I could pass by Artelaine. I love her soft, muted colors; a gorgeous use of stained to create colors you otherwise wouldn’t be able to find. Light unusual eyes are some of my absolute favorites and they fit her perfectly, adding to the sunwashed effect of her stained. It’s often a challenge to find apparel to fit stained dragons, but all of Artelaine’s manages to match her muted shades - I especially love how the sepia rose thorn set adds soft touches of pink with its roses. Aansaiyasi is one of those dragons who I need to take a second look at (or even a third) before I can really grasp everything that’s going on - she’s so multilayered, so complex, and yet there’s a gorgeous balance and symmetry to the colors and patterns she displays. I can’t say enough how much I love the shockingly bright swirls of cyan all over her - the smirch at her face, the flames over her wings, even the bright accents of mint python along her body. And then in contrast, the deep dark blues of her wings, and of the haunted flame apparel - it all comes together in a stunning mix of all the shades water might be, perfect for a priestess of it. Centiel is next - what a perfect sunset of a dragon! I almost thought he had to have stained, his colors are so cohesive - but it’s all down to fire and violet having such beautiful matches in skink and noxtide. He’s another dragon whose mix of apparel is stunning as well - the nebula star silks look like they were made for him, and the rest of his apparel draws out his colors with their shades of magenta, orange, and gold. I especially love the layering of the apparel on his head - it gives the effect of an elaborate headdress, many pieces coming together as one. That and his goat eyes make him look enigmatic and mysterious. I had to talk about Lukh. What a stunning example of wind primal eyes - the darker greens of his body give the perfect contrast for them to really shine, and they make him mysterious and otherworldly. I love how the swirling mists of his eyes are mirrored in the shapes of starmap and smoke too, giving his whole body a similar ephemeral effect. While he would have been gorgeous already with just his dark greens, I love how you’ve added in muted, autumnal oranges with the autumn breeze and clawtips - those little bits of contrast make him so much more multidimensional. And because I just couldn’t stop myself at six I need to do a quick shoutout to Kelhi for being, like. The Most Beautiful. Gods she’s just stunning with those golds against her deep, dark purples. I could not physically love her more than I already do.
@Fletcher Here’s your review! It was so hard to choose which dragons to talk about, all of them are so pretty~

First up is Attelise!

@Pai Sivath had a delightful visit to your lair - hopefully she didn’t cause too much trouble! ----- Treading carefully over dead or dying brush, Sivath nonetheless found herself breathing more easily as she proceeded through the woods. An odd reaction for one traveling directly towards a smuggler’s den - unless, of course, one was a smuggler themself. It was a relief to cast off her practiced air of poise and politeness, to let a glint of danger enter her eyes and a swagger come out in her walk. It was still a game with deadly hazards, to be sure, but distinctly more entertaining ones than simply pretending to be a respectable merchant. “You’re going the wrong way.” Sivath’s eyes narrowed, scanning the thin tree line. The jagged branches could hardly conceal someone well, but the voice seemed to have come from just in front of her. After a moment of scrutiny she found a patch of darkness that didn’t seem like the rest; it shifted at the edges, odd shapes like reaching claws twisting and coiling around a murky figure crowned with a skull. Squaring her shoulders, Sivath replied, “I don’t make a habit of taking advice from those who hide themselves in the shadows.” She refused to be intimidated; this dragon was likely meant to deter casual passersby. If they meant any harm it would have made more sense to attack while Sivath was unaware of their presence. After a moment’s pause, a hulking imperial emerged from the brush where she had somehow managed to conceal herself - likely down to her muted purple scales, a match for the twisted bark of the trees surrounding them. In the dim light she appeared half-overgrown herself, with dried flowers and thorny vines twisting over her body. “The way you’re going isn’t safe. You should turn back.” Sivath cocked her head, a smile curling her mouth. It was not a friendly smile. “Are you going to stop me?” The imperial blinked. “No. I… see now that you know your way.” Before Sivath could say anything else, she turned and melted back into the shadows. Though Sivath couldn’t see her anymore, she had the odd sense that she was still being watched. Still, nobody else spoke to her until she saw the hill of Morcsbury rising up before her. A handful of gems to the guard at the door and she was inside, surveying the opulent room before her with a satisfied smile. She explored for a time, moving from room to room as the mood took her. Memorizing faces and overheard snatches of conversation captured most of her attention. One in particular - Vitra - seemed to come up in the same breath as the phrases Sivath was most interested in, talk of covert shipments and smuggling routes. Competition - or, on the unlikely chance she managed to impress Sivath, a partner. A few sly questions - and a few more coins handed over along the way - led Sivath to the room where Vitra sat, enjoying a meal between jobs. Sivath settled at the far side of the room at first, watching surreptitiously. From the fine make of her coat and boots she was doing well for herself, or had managed to steal from someone who had anyway. Even in the more relaxed environment of the mansion she still wore armored plate over her wings - perhaps a testament to caution, or possibly a precaution against someone else running off with the armor. After a time Vitra noticed her scrutiny, indirect though it was - she cast a narrow-eyed glare Sivath’s way, making it clear she was in no mood for conversation. Sivath huffed a laugh and nodded back. She could respect that - no reason to make an enemy out of simple stubbornness. Sivath continued on her exploration of the mansion, this time looking for the more secluded areas, curious of what might be hidden away in this maze of interconnected rooms. The halls slowly grew quieter, bustle and chatter dying away as Sivath passed through room after room. When she opened a door to find a pearlcatcher behind it, they both blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting to see another dragon here. ”I don’t know you, do I?” The pale pearlcatcher asked, setting down a stack of books she had been tucking back onto a shelf. Like the imperial Sivath had seen outside, she also had vines trailing over her legs and wings, but they seemed more a fashion statement than the imperial’s had, the soft pink of the roses matching her eyes, an odd color unlike most other Arcane dragons Sivath had seen. “Can I help you find your way somewhere?” “No, I don’t believe we’ve met,” Sivath demurred, stepping further into the room to dissuade any ideas about leading her away from here. Though this room had the mismatched furniture for lounging about that many of the others she’d passed through did, tall shelves lined the walls, full of books. About half of them seemed disorderly, tomes stacked haphazardly and leaning at odd angles; the other half had clearly just been reorganized by this dragon, all of their spines straight and neatly aligned. “Perhaps you can tell me where I am now?” “Oh, this is the archives - I’m Drai,” she said belatedly. “Were you looking for anything in particular? I might be able to help you find it - though I’m afraid you wouldn’t have clearance for certain things…” “That’s quite all right, I was just curious,” Sivath said easily. She hadn’t realized such a wealth of information lay under the floors above - far from being a simple refuge for relaxation, this place could be an incredible resource. But still, too much eagerness might not be prudent. She had plenty of time to wait, to mingle and gain what little trust people like these had to give. “I think I’ll be able to see myself back out.”
@Pai Sivath had a delightful visit to your lair - hopefully she didn’t cause too much trouble!

Treading carefully over dead or dying brush, Sivath nonetheless found herself breathing more easily as she proceeded through the woods. It was a relief to cast off her practiced air of poise and politeness, to let a glint of danger enter her eyes and a swagger come out in her walk. It was still a game with deadly hazards, to be sure, but distinctly more entertaining ones than simply pretending to be a respectable merchant.

“You’re going the wrong way.”

@Pai I’m glad you liked it! I had so much fun writing it, as soon as I started reading through your lore thread I knew Sivath was the perfect dragon to pay a visit! I love how your lore thread and bios are laid out by the way, they’re gorgeous and so good for showing the mood and context for Morcsbury.

@Quintillion Your lair review is here! I hope you enjoy~ ----- Starting off with Sol, who is absolutely spectacular. Terracotta and coal butterfly are a perfect match, and I love how her okapi brings some of that darker color down over her limbs as well. And then there’s her accent and apparel - the bright oranges are stunning against her darker colors, and I love how the conflagrant halo adds some extra dimension. Her primal eyes are another bit of unusual contrast, breaking from her color scheme in a way that gives her an air of mystery and magic. She has some gorgeous art too, it was a delight to look through as I went through her bio. Next up is Nougat! She looks delightfully witchy somehow - maybe it’s her hat with its jaunty feather (a fabulous bit of apparel layering), perhaps the ragged edges of her cloak, or maybe the book at her hip. Delightful autumnal colors (more gorgeous coal butterfly!) certainly help too. So it was an entertaining surprise to find she’s just a chef, though I don’t think just really works as a modifier after reading what she considers good ingredients to be! I get a great mental image of her leaning over a pot, busily stirring while smoke heavy with spices swirls around her. What kind of Light clan would I be if I passed up Sascha? He’s a gorgeous golden boy, looking soft and sun-warmed. I love the almost toasted look flaxen gets with python; it provides a lovely contrast for the little pale flowers in his accent. I do love how you’ve added little bits of other colors to break up the gold, lovely as it is. Warm oranges from the sylvan set and autumn leaves, and bright greens from his accent and marigold apparel, all look beautiful on him and set him apart from other golden Light dragons. And another Light dragon because I just can’t help myself. Mori reminds me of a gilded statue, pale swirls of marble accented with shimmering gold. He’s another dragon with an impeccable color palette - I love how you’ve kept his outfit relatively simple, sticking to soft whites with only the smallest accents of green and blue. He looks almost angelic - I know I’d be hard-pressed to turn him down if his food cart came by, if his appearance is any reflection of the care he puts into his cooking. Ipsum is an interesting blend of earthy warmth and ephemeral delicacy. Her soft brown colors are the perfect backdrop for her gorgeous accent, letting all of the detail of those intricate wings shine. Her apparel adds to that otherworldly vibe with the faded edges of her cloak and swirl of petals and leaves around her. I sometimes hesitate to use skins with such broad wing coverage for fear of hiding too much, but the way you’ve balanced her accent and apparel makes it look perfectly natural. Her lore fits her so well too - I can easily imagine a dragon with such a mysterious air speaking in cryptic, forgotten language. Another gorgeous gen one skydancer! I love the pale bits that wine striation adds, and it’s drawn out even more with her cream glimmer as a counterpoint. I had no idea driftwood metallic got so dark, but because it does the haunted candles look like they were made just for her with their fade from near-black to dusky red. She just looks so cohesive and put-together, from her colors to her accent to her outfit. Look, you can’t blame me for the fact that you have so many incredible skydancers. The first word to enter my mind when I saw Merle was “cryptid”, and she certainly lives up to the first impression. I’ll put aside her appearance for a minute to talk about her lore, which is just gorgeously written, and such a creative expression of her genes and colors. Her accent gives a wonderful sense of powerful magic animating her body, and I love that all of her apparel is organic, adding to the idea of dormant matter given life. And lastly, Kyzylkum, whose name I absolutely had to copy and paste in! I adore beige jaguar, and she’s a perfect example of it - the deep black of her wings emphasizes the grey tones in her spots beautifully. That accent is a stunning match for her colors as well, drawing the washed-out brown of her body up to her wings. And of course in my opinion you can never go wrong with adding gold - the luminous halo, the seraph jewelry, and the haunted candles all shine against her muted colors.

@Myndris Here’s your finished review! It was fun taking a look through your lair~ ----- First up is Celeres! Her colors are gorgeous - ice poison brings out some beautiful purples, dark in contrast to the paler lavender of her wings. Obsidian capsule is wonderful on her too, that deep black adding a spooky vibe. Her apparel helps echo that, especially the woodmask with its shadowed eyes and the dark thorns of the dusky rose thorn set. I think what I love the most about her look is the exquisite layering that gives her such a complex, multidimensional look - shady sash over pastel rose collar over helpful woodtrail, it all looks so natural. Next is Khromus, who is delightfully shiny! I love the steely sheen orca alloy gives his wings - his feathers almost look like individual blades, each one sharp and dangerous. And ice works splendidly for his other colors, giving his whole look a cold edge. Monochrome apparel is just right for him, and the mix of different sets - pure snowy white silks, stark black and white rogue, softer and rougher primal kilt - makes him look both elegant and capable in a fight. His battle outfit is amazing too - adding red to that monochrome mix gives just the right edge of intimidation he’d need on the battlefield. I love his woodsy brown colors, a perfect match to his name. I think what struck me the most about him is how practical and real his outfit looks. With his rolled-up sleeves, cozy scarf, and spectacles at the ready, he looks like he’s ready to venture out into the forest, perhaps to examine flora and fauna, jotting down notes and sketches in the journal at his hip. Her skin of course does a lot to make her look decayed, with her scarred face and tattered wings, but her apparel does a lot to tell that story too. The bird skulls and white raven armor make me think of trophies that she carries with her, proof of her battle prowess. The nightshroud and unearthly jewelry give her the fraying, ghostly look of the undead. And of course the blood-red clawtips give her another distinctly dangerous edge. I mean, first off, he does look great - abyss is the perfect backdrop for the brightness of his aqua smirch, and that in turn is a stunning match for the eerie cyan apparel, especially the grasps - they almost look like an extension of his smirch, the hands drawing out from his scales in irregular curls of smoky light. And his eyes - that soft touch of lavender in them is almost eerie against the darkness of his face. And after admiring him, I had a great time scrolling through his bio - what an incredible collection of memes. Kudos for having that level of commitment to smirch love.
