I don't think I'll ever like anything better than basic for her primary. It's the same idea as with your girl, I think? Basic is the cleanest, darkest black without adding in any greys. It helps the other genes pop more, especially with a bright color like your girl's orange.

I keep trying to gene this girl, one of my first dragons on the site, and I just CAN'T. I think every gene conflicts with her outfit somehow? So she may just stay triple-basic forever...
