I spent [i]so much time[/i] trying to figure out an outfit for this guy and his weird colors. I made and rejected and refined outfit after outfit but finally! Finally he is done.
I don't know why this particular dragon captured me like this, but here we are.
Anyway, please show me dragons who gave you no end of trouble - hard to gene, hard to dress, never satisfied, or just plain breaking your wallet. Share your struggles. How'd they turn out?

Anyway, please show me dragons who gave you no end of trouble - hard to gene, hard to dress, never satisfied, or just plain breaking your wallet. Share your struggles. How'd they turn out?
First off Answer looks amazing, love his colors and layering (and his name :)
My Tatterdemalion is being tough because she's my professionally spooky derg so her bio includes some of her creepy costumes... and I apparently lack all edgy/scary-aesthetic-creating genes. How do people do it??

What makes it worse is, she's my [i]custom [/i]progen. Since I only got to pick the first two colors (Obsidian, Azure), the random third (Magenta!) almost made me quit before I began. To add insult to injury, my random progen came out with three very complimentary green shades:

The release of the Runes gene really saved her for me, and within the past year two festival skins have come out with a Magenta focus that work for her (Rising Stars, her current one, and Lightlock, which she's also worn). But, [i]ugh[/i], black, blue, and [i]magenta[/i]? I think I'm as pleased with her as I'm going to be, though. I've never had the courage to try to Scatterscroll her.

So I wanna tell you the story of the dragon who sparked the entire lore of my clan. I was super into dom battles like 2 years ago and was also on a big discord chat with a lot of FR people. So we're at the tail end of our battle, I remember it being SUPER big (might have been nature vs plague?) and I was doing my last-minute thing of receiving fodder, training, then exalting. So I received this dragon and knew IMMEDIATELY I couldn't exalt her (she still has the levels omg) so I quickly posted in our discord about her and my friend offered to take her. Well, she looks a lot like my patriarch Valere and I kinda joked with my friend that we should do a little lore since we wanted a connection cross lairs. Long story short we ended up having a giant storyline where they fell in love but Valere's evil brother backfired some magic and made them disappear from one another then the evil brother posed as Valere. It was so much fun.

Thank you! His name was honestly a big part of what drew me to him. And I don't know what you're talking about, those costumes are all fantastic. My favorite is 'hungry grove'. Just imagine her, looking like a clump of bushes. Some unsuspecting dragon sees the little fluttering things, thinks that's all there is... and then her head slowly turns towards them as the 'plants' come alive.

I too know the pain of unfortunate terts. My custom progen is black/leaf/
tangerine (hooray for subtle genes like spines!). But have you tried scrying her recently, with newer genes? Lionfish/trail/peacock doesn't look too bad. I do like how the current skin matches her tert, though.

I love hearing stories like that about how people came by dragons in odd ways. I also liked reading the two different versions of the story, in her bio and Valere's. I demand happy endings for both of them!
