Dragon Share

Admittedly, these dragons aren't bad, they just don't really stand out to me. However . . .

This is somewhat why fodder/Dominance in general annoys me. Dragons that are already beautiful, that don't even need any new genes or changes, are underpriced and exalted, and often not because someone needs lair space, but simply because they are obsessed with Dominance. Some dragons are fodder-worthy, but I feel like pretty dragons shouldn't be tossed out the window just because others seem meant to be.

Often, the dragons I see being sold for non-fodder price tend to be low-digits, rare G1s, and overrated color/gene combinations. I understand why low-digits and G1s are valuable--I enjoy collecting them myself--and I realize that, obviously, a random pretty dragon will not be worth as much as they are, but I don't think that means they should be sold as fodder.

It's nice to be able to get pretty dragons cheap, but it's not nice when someone else buys them and you see them get thrown away.

Anyways, pardon the mini-rant, but I've been wanting an opportunity to say something about this for a while.

I only find it sad because there are too many pretty fodder dragons being exalted as what they’re being sold as. Fodder.

It’s very difficult to regene a dragon, yes that’s true, but Wouldn’t the effort feel more rewarding and special than just buying the dragon as it already is? And in terms of more wild and out of place colours, most of them look terrible as they hatch and people don’t bother to see their potential, so they sell them as fodder.

It is great for new players though, I do agree! Stavros in my first tab came from the very beginning of my fr journey, and I love him to bits!! He was fodder and I bought him because I really wanted to get another dragon for my new clan so I could breed! And he’s still here after a year. I’m so glad I got to buy him.

You are completely right! I agree completely. It hurts so much when I go through the ah, looking at scrys for a fodder dragon I want to buy and keep, only to refresh the page and see that it’s been bought! And I just know that it’s about to be exalted and it’s kills me inside.

It just infuriated me!! Why can’t people leave the overused and super popular gene and colour combos alone for a while and see the potential in those underrated dragons that could so easily have more beauty than any of those overrated ones! It just hurts, so so much. People should really just sign back and look at how amazing all these fodder dragons can be.

And with dominance and everything too, it’s just saddening that these people, who could be fully aware of hidden beauty in a dragon, just exalt them anyway. All for being the dominant clan. What? So you can have a couple added gathering turns and get a tiny bit of money each day for only a week? And while I understand that if every dragon in fr that has potential was kept there would surely be an issue in space, but at least people could try and sell these dragons for more!!

@QuetzalMuse What annoys me with popular color/gene combinations the most is, well, really, they tend to look boring. Especially when many are doubles and triples devoid from the use of enough accent color. Also, personally, I'm not that proud of owning something if there are a million clones of it out there. As for the thing about fodder dragons you wanted being bought--if that happens, it doesn't mean all hope is lost. If you look at the person's lair and see they're actually in a fodder tab, you could try contacting the person and offering to buy it back from them or trade another dragon for fodder. I know some people have said it's to support their flight, but I don't even feel like I'm part of a flight, honestly.

They’re all so pretty!! That wildclaw just gives off such a beautiful vibe, tropical almost? I don’t see how she could possibly have been put at 6000t with those stunning colours. I wish more people would price their pretty dragons higher, it’s what they deserve!

But I agree. An overused and common dragon type just doesn’t feel that special if everyone has one. I like having dragons that are outside that norm because it makes them feel so much more unique to me!

Dominance is also just an eh thing, i don’t so much care for it. If it happens then it happens.
